Alba Vitae 2016, AIS and Spaghetti

Spaghetti & Mandolino and the Italian Sommelier Association of Veneto are collaborating again for the Alba Vitae 2016 project! We are pleased to be chosen for the second consecutive year as the official sales portal for this solidarity initiative by AIS, which aims to help associations or foundations that work daily to support the most disadvantaged people. This year, the project will support FormArte Centro Studi e Ricerche di Belluno, a non-profit cultural association for the development of the Supporto Scolastico Armonico project, dedicated to students facing problems and difficulties.

 

The product for sale will be, as usual, a magnum bottle of a wine selected by sommeliers from the outstanding wineries of the Veneto region. This year, the Capo di Stato 2009 from Azienda Agricola Conte Loredan Gasparini in Venegazzù di Volpago del Montello (TV) has been selected. A legendary wine, a Bordeaux blend known worldwide, whose name evokes famous characters and anecdotes worthy of a film. Do you know why it is called “Capo di Stato”? 

 

Its fame stems from a famous gaffe that occurred in Venice in 1967, when French General and President De Gaulle was visiting for the Biennale. At the Gritti Hotel, he was served a Venegazzù Rosso and he praised it as “extraordinary Bordeaux”. It was the international consecration of a wine born in the heart of the Alta Marca Trevigiana, which from that moment took the name Capo di Stato.

The magnum of Alba Vitae is a truly important wine that, under the Christmas tree, becomes a gift of double value: a quality product dedicated to enthusiasts and collectors, and a tangible symbol of social commitment. This year, in addition, the packaging will be something really special! This large bottle will bring to the table a wine of great depth, intense and rich in aromatic and olfactory components. Last year we managed to sell 164 bottles of Alba Vitae 2015 out of a little over 300 sold in total; this year sales will start today and will last until December 20, and we are committed to surpassing that number and doing better year after year.
