We live in an era where toxins are becoming our most challenging enemy to fight: they settle in our bodies due to stress, work, and frenzy, and most of the time we struggle to release them just by leading a normal life. For this reason, it is good and right to activate the metabolism and especially to seek help from nature. Mother Earth, in fact, offers us every vital element for our health and well-being whenever we need it: with fruits and vegetables, we can create nutrient-rich Detox drinks, which are the perfect answer to toxins and energy slumps. Often, however, it is us who too many times forget about Mother Nature and have entrusted our lives to synthetic products and chemistry.
The new consumer is more attentive to the genuineness of the product, its beneficial impact on the body, and its purity. Ayurvedic and natural remedies are sought with increasing trust, even from those who were skeptical until recently. Nature, therefore, provides: fruits and vegetables as basic elements that remedy and restore our metabolism and free it from everything superfluous.
Thus, we see a proliferation of drinks, smoothies, juices, flavored waters, extracts, smoothies, etc. On this topic, we want to contribute by highlighting some examples for you to create excellent Detox supplements at home that, with the arrival of warm weather and summer, can also help you as digestive aids, refreshing drinks, and substitutes for carbohydrate-rich meals.
Fruit Extract: apple, ginger, and lemon. This is a product obtained by separating the liquid part of a fruit from its fiber. It is produced using extractors that are now available commercially at very affordable prices. It is the best solution because it extracts all the beneficial parts of the fruit or vegetable without overheating the product. In this way, any loss of active ingredients is avoided, and, in particular, thermolabile vitamins are preserved. Ginger and lemon accelerate metabolism and balance sweet flavors.
Vegetable Juice. Here, only a blender is needed. Place 4 cups of spinach, 6 kale leaves, and one cucumber inside. Blend everything together and then adjust with some lemon juice. Do not overheat the blender too much. In this case, we have extracted as much as possible the beneficial and detoxifying components of the vegetables, and lemon helps to speed up the metabolic absorption of nutrients.
Flavored Waters. Sometimes, drinking water can be challenging, especially if we use bitter waters from pure sources with very low saline residues, such as those from high mountains and alpine regions. Yet, all Detox diets always require a daily intake of 1.5-2 liters of water. To make it tastier, flavoring can be done using fruits and vegetables. Cut the fruit and vegetables into pieces and let them macerate in water overnight. Through osmosis, the nutrients contained in the cells of the fruit or vegetables pass into the water, flavoring it and charging it with detoxifying properties. Here, you can unleash your creativity based on your tastes.
Smoothies: green tea and citrus. A very alternative smoothie with one of the most detoxifying products we can find in nature: loose leaf green tea. We can make it this way: 1 orange, 1 grapefruit, the juice of half a lemon, half a cup of chilled unsweetened green tea, half a frozen banana, and half a tablespoon of honey. If desired, you can also add a few ice cubes and some plant-based yogurt to give the drink a smoother and more homogeneous consistency. Blend everything and drink immediately. Here, in addition to the vitamins from the citrus fruits, we have added fiber and potassium with the banana.
Juice. A beautiful, colorful proposal ideal for summer and long sunny days. The ingredients are: 2 apples, 2 carrots, 1 celery stalk, 2 limes. Wash, cut them into pieces, and juice them separately. Then mix and serve cold with ice and possibly some peppermint leaves. A delicious freshness!
