We propose to you an "alcoholic barricade". Cheers.
The
grappa is the quintessential Italian spirit and the most famous worldwide. It is made from pomace of grapes cultivated and processed mainly on Italian soil, as declared by the European Council regulation of 1989.
We present to you, from the award-winning
Corte S.Alda winery, from Mezzane in the province of Verona, a perfect combination of two grappas made from Amarone pomace (self-referential!) typical of the area: the first is a
dry grappa of transparent color and the second, amber in color, is
aged and refined in oak barriques. The barrique, also known by the French term "barrique", is a small wooden barrel with a capacity of 225 liters.
The term “
barricata” derives from these barrels: indeed, during the “French Revolution”, they were filled with earth or debris and placed along the borders or roads to create
barriers.
The grappas in question are both spirits derived from the distillation of pomace through the traditional method of the still.
One is a young and dry 44° spirit with a
refined persistent taste, to be enjoyed in company or alone in front of the fireplace, and another, aged for about a year, with a complex taste featuring notes of licorice and vanilla that adds a touch of tradition to this excellent digestif.
