The color of the bottle is important for preserving wine, as are its shape and size. Glass is a material that has a certain fragility, but it also provides stability to the container. The color of the bottles changes depending on the producer's preferences and local traditions, and it primarily serves a preservative function: dark colors act as a barrier to sunlight.

However, in the past, glass was not specifically made to have colors like green or brown but took on those tones due to impurities in the blown materials.

Wine Bottle: Size Variation
The size of the bottles also affects wine preservation and especially aging. In a small container, like a "quartino," the wine tends to mature more quickly because oxidation depends on the amount of oxygen present in the bottle. In a smaller bottle, there is a higher chance of having more oxygen compared to a larger one.
