A good resolution for 2018: eat healthier

I challenge anyone to not admit that during the Christmas holidays they have said: “After Epiphany, I will go on a diet!”. To be honest, how many people, in general, occasionally say the famous phrase ”from Monday, I will start my diet”? Many. A lot. It is a good intention that, for some, works. It takes a lot of d determination and willpower. Creativity in managing one's food journey is also necessary. Yes, because to detoxify our body after the festive dinners and lunches, we need a healthy, balanced diet with the right calorie intake. What if we set ourselves a goal for the year 2018 to eat better and healthier? It could be a good objective to share together. 

But what does it mean to eat healthily at the table? First of all, it's not just a matter of calories. It's also not just about being Organic or not Organic. The point is to try to provide our body with what it needs. If possible, choose between genuine products whose supply chain is known and products free of preservatives, additives, and colorings. Being health-conscious at the table also means choosing a product that has history, culture, and tradition. And if we decide it should be local: let it truly be. 

The goal that has distinguished us this past year has been to offer our customers a wide selection of products, characterized by genuineness and traceability. In most cases, the aim has been to give consistency to the sacrifices of farmers and small to medium-sized local artisan realities, enhancing either the final product or the essential raw material. Then, we also tried to favor a great selection of good products that do well. 

Do you want some tips to make your resolution a reality? Let's start with a product that is indispensable: pasta! How can we say no to a good plate of macaroni or spaghetti? There are alternatives we can choose that have excellent flavors and nutritional and dietary characteristics that are more functional than simple durum wheat semolina pasta. For example, 100g of gluten-free pasta, of the good kind, anyway drawn, could well replace white pasta. Are there healthy sweets? Yes, there are. For example, the delightful Modica IGP chocolate from the award-winning company Sabadì with its functional recipes, rich in natural components defined as superfoods. 

We also recommend the delicious vegan cookies from the company Dolci Sereni, which combine health-consciousness with genuine goodness.
