Tomarchio drinks: all the taste of Sicily in a bottle.

The Italy of typical artisanal and territorial products is made up of many stories where the passion and love for one’s work has led individual men to create important Italian realities from scratch. Tomarchio is undoubtedly one of these realities. Almost 100 years ago, in 1920, Filippo Tomarchio started producing the very first bottles of artisanal drinks, which he delivered door-to-door in wooden crates in the Acireale area. The drink was of one type: the gazzosa.

TOMARCHIO SOFT DRINKS: FROM ACIREALE TO 21 COUNTRIES AROUND THE WORLD

In Acireale , those of a certain age all share the same memory associated with this brand, because parties and Sunday afternoons at the bar or with family were always accompanied by a Tomarchio drink. First the gazzosa, then the aranciata, then the limonata, and gradually more new flavors. But from that gazzosa of the '20s, Filippo and his company have come a long way: 40 years later, in fact, he managed to expand commercially throughout the province of Catania, under the shadow of Mount Etna. Only in the '80s did he start to establish himself in the regional market. Today, the Tomarchio company records significant achievements, managing to become a leader in Sicily in the production of carbonated fruit-based beverages and supplying sales points in all Italian provinces and in 21 countries abroad.

TOMARCHIO: THE SECRET INGREDIENT OF THIS SUCCESS

The genuineness and goodness of these drinks are undoubtedly the key to their success, but the main ingredient is undoubtedly Sicily. Tomarchio uses only the juices of the best freshly squeezed citrus fruits ripened in the warm sun of the Sicilian island, where the wind smells of the sea. The water used comes from the slopes of Mount Etna: rich in minerals that give it an unmatched taste. And then the artisanal production that respects the processing method passed down faithfully for 100 years and three generations. Everything is short supply chain and zero kilometers to safeguard the island's most important heritage and maintain a direct relationship between producer and consumer while respecting tradition and the environment.

TOMARCHIO: THE ADDED VALUE OF ORGANIC

Drinking healthy is even better, and Tomarchio knows it: the company started, in fact, to offer from May 2016 drinks made with organic ingredients that have the added value of PGI (protected geographical indication) and PDO (protected designation of origin) certifications, such as PGI Red Orange, PGI Lemon from Syracuse, and PDO Orange from Ribera. Juices from Sicilian organic citrus fruits, Etna water, cane sugar, and natural flavors: these are the ingredients of the new "Organic" line signed by Tomarchio. All this meets the need for authenticity of a consumer looking for products tied to the territory, a value that is also part of the mission of Spaghetti & Mandolino. Therefore, we could not miss having Tomarchio products in our catalog of specialties!

TOMARCHIO: SUSTAINABILITY AND CONNECTION WITH THE TERRITORY

Tomarchio is introducing the healthiest and most genuine flavors of Sicily to the whole world in a bottle. Their project is ambitious because it boasts absolute uniqueness in terms of market proposition, both in Italy and abroad. In addition to this important mission, Tomarchio aims for environmental respect through continuous monitoring and control of the production supply chain. From production to distribution, the soft drink company aims to concretize a sustainable development that protects the territory by promoting the reduction of energy and water consumption to contain waste. For all their drinks, Tomarchio exclusively uses raw materials from the Sicilian territory, following a short and controlled supply chain. To strengthen the connection with the territory, they added the Development Pact of the Productive District of Sicilian Citrus that Tomarchio signed in 2011: it is a regional project for the safeguarding and valorization of the island’s citrus heritage. This opportunity has allowed them to establish increasingly virtuous synergies with the actors of the involved supply chain, based on sharing the broader common project of defending the raw material and territory. The BIO line undoubtedly responds to this collaboration between the company, the District, and the main protection consortia of the island.
