FACCIdabere by Silvia Facci: craft beer and much more!

FACCIdabere is more than just a simple brand: it is a journey, a dream come true, a taste experience created by Silvia Facci, who, following her aspirations, has become one of the 18 female beer producers in Italy, and is a member of the association "Le Donne della Birra". The passion for craft beer production, through the creation of unique and original recipes, has led Silvia to establish the FACCIdabere brand with a touch of irony and a lot of courage.

Before creating her brand, Silvia Facci worked as an employee in various sectors; each job increased her experience, but her "inner fire" burned for something different—her passion. At a certain point, she decided it was time to make a definitive change in her life and to bet everything on her passion, which is the production of craft beer.

FACCIdabere, the birth of the brand

FACCIdabere was born from the passion of Silvia Facci, 33 years old, from Bussolengo in the province of Verona. As a great connoisseur of good beer, about four years ago Silvia began producing her first beers as an homebrewer. Her passion for the idea of being able to create something new drove her towards creation and experimentation, as it was exciting to witness the evolution of simple ingredients such as barley malt, water, yeast, and hops. From these, the possibility of producing something new according to her personal taste opened up. The first approvals came from friends and family, and since then, the desire to create a real brand has grown ever stronger for Silvia.

Silvia Facci quit her job in 2014, and in 2017 she created the FACCIdabere brand; with an ironic play on words, almost brought about by destiny, Silvia's last name fit very well for her original and creative brand, easily memorable. Thus, Silvia became a BEERFIRM, allowing her to make use of the facilities of a craft brewery to produce her exclusive recipes.

FACCIdabere, the feminine interpretation of the world of craft beer

FACCIdabere, Silvia Facci's brand, reverses the current belief that the world of craft beers is predominantly male-oriented. Contrary to what one might think, there are many female admirers, even if this characteristic does not make them producers. Certainly, it hasn’t been easy for Silvia to carve out a space among many men, but her determination has been stronger, and now Silvia enjoys her well-deserved space. After all, history does not lie: in ancient times, beer production was entrusted to women, in Mesopotamia and Egypt, where the first discoveries about barley fermentation took place, and it remained so until more recent times.

For instance, we recall the story of Mary Lisle, who, in 1734, became the first brewer in Philadelphia, taking over her father's brewery. It was around the 18th century, when the figure of the Brew Master emerged, that women began to distance themselves from beer production, and only in the last 15 years have they been regaining key roles in the sector. The feminine passion for craft beer brings very high numbers, with about 60% of consumers being Italian women. This is understandable: to make a comparison without gender distinction, craft beer ensures a higher quality than industrial beer. Additionally, during production, there are no pasteurization or microfiltration processes, leaving the product more genuine. The recipes are made with greater care, and allow more personal space for the Master brewers who produce them, to the extent that one can recognize their touch as if it were a signature.

The Session IPA craft beer from FACCIdabere

The first label created by Silvia Facci with FACCIdabere is a Session IPA, a customized variant of the typical IPA. To describe the recipe, it is a complex, tasty, refined, low-alcohol beer (only 4.5 degrees). It is a top-fermented beer, as the yeasts work at high temperatures during the process; it is neither filtered nor pasteurized, as is required by the artisan process. The body is lean, fresh, with a pale yellow color thanks to the use of German malts. On the palate, it presents the sensation of a pleasant and round bitterness, with a decisive spirit and a dry finish. The aroma is pleasantly citrusy, with a slight hint of white fruit, and a slight note of grapefruit.

The Session IPA from FACCIdabere is a perfect beer for a tasty aperitif with intense flavor; the light alcohol content makes it ideal for a moment of conviviality before the evening meal. The perfect pairing is with a platter of Venetian cured meats and young cheeses but with a strong flavor like blue cheeses, for example Blu 61, covered with cranberries. In fact, any moment is good to enjoy a Session IPA from FACCIdabere, for example with a barbecue or as a dessert: the fruity notes actually make it perfect to enjoy with Modica chocolate, or with a Blue Dominik cheese aged in rum and cocoa.

FACCIdabere by Silvia Facci is much more than a craft beer brand: it is a true beer style, all about life, and all female!
