How to cook quinoa: some kitchen tips

Cooking quinoa is as simple as preparing rice. For example, we recommend a version of vegetarian paella, using quinoa instead of rice. To prepare it, you will need quinoa, peas, oil, salt, turmeric, garlic, bell peppers, zucchini, and an onion. Cut the vegetables into small pieces and sauté them in a pan with a drizzle of oil. Meanwhile, boil the quinoa in salted boiling water equal to three times its volume, adding turmeric for about 12 minutes. At the end of cooking, combine everything and dress with a drizzle of oil.

A truly tasty first course is quinoa with lemon and ginger. You will need quinoa, brown rice, boiled chickpeas, cherry tomatoes, parsley, lemon zest and juice, green olives, powdered ginger, salt, and oil. Boil the rice and quinoa separately in salted water. Drain and combine everything, seasoning with olive oil. Add chickpeas, halved cherry tomatoes, chopped parsley, and grated lemon zest. Mix everything and add a teaspoon of powdered ginger and a few green olives. A delight!

Now let's move on to a truly original second course: quinoa chili. You will need quinoa, boiled red beans, onion, tomato sauce, chili, oregano, and salt. Boil and drain the quinoa. Pour it into a pan where you had previously sautéed the onion with a drizzle of oil. Add the tomato sauce, beans, and oregano. Sauté everything for a few minutes and finally add the chili. This delicious dish can be enjoyed both hot and cold.

Do you want to enjoy a delicious dinner in front of the TV? Try the quinoa tortillas! You will need quinoa, tortillas, boiled black beans, lettuce, and salt. Boil the quinoa and blend the beans to make a puree. Once ready, combine the quinoa. Place some lettuce leaves on each tortilla, and fill with the quinoa and bean puree. Roll up, serve, and enjoy!

Quinoa is also perfect for preparing desserts. Here's how to make delicious quinoa cookies. You will need whole wheat flour, quinoa, plant-based milk (to taste), corn oil, brown sugar, and cinnamon. Boil the quinoa in unsalted water until well softened. Combine the flour, sugar, and cinnamon. Drain the quinoa and add it to the mixture, kneading the dough and gradually adding the oil and plant-based milk. Let the dough rest for about half an hour in the fridge, then roll it out with a rolling pin. Cut the cookies with cookie cutters or a knife, and bake in the oven at 180 degrees for about 10 - 15 minutes. They are perfect as a dessert or for a healthy and nutritious breakfast.
