Terre del Bosco originates from a family story: from grandfather Gelmino to son Fabio, a tobacco producer, to grandson Mattia. The story of Terre del Bosco is a true family vocation for agriculture, which, thanks to this dedication, has given rise to a modern company that pays attention to product quality, the most innovative technologies, energy saving, and respect for the environment.


Piccolboni Agricultural Company: thirty years of tradition in rice production

Mattia Piccolboni from the Piccolboni Agricultural Company, with the Terre del Bosco brand, is responsible for the production, packaging, and sale of Vialone Nano and Carnaroli rice varieties. Terre del Bosco is located in the typical area for rice production, cultivated in irrigated areas with spring water: the upper hydrographic basin of the Tartaro river.

Everything that makes up Terre del Bosco represents thirty years of care, passion, and respect for the land: every stage of processing is carried out with care, resulting in a product of absolute quality.


Terre del Bosco Products: Authenticity on the Table

The mission of the Piccolboni Agricultural Company is to spread the culture of rice and risotto in Italy and around the world, with continuous innovations to meet the needs of the modern consumer; that's why products like Risottini have been created, made specifically for those who want to enjoy true specialties but don't have much time to spend in the kitchen. All with the goal of complete customer satisfaction.

That's why the company, thanks to experience, has developed the most precious rice varieties to satisfy market demand, offering high-quality products that are tasty, easy, and quick to prepare.

Production is focused on the two main rice categories, Vialone Nano, recognized as I.G.P., and Carnaroli. Both are processed using the traditional method, which does not completely remove the outer husks, resulting in a semi-processed product with an amber color that retains all the flavor of tradition and the full taste of rice. This characteristic also provides better cooking resilience.

Both Vialone Nano and Carnaroli are also available in whole grain form, obtained with a more selective classic milling that leaves a greater amount of husk on the rice. In addition to rice cultivation, which is the main focus, the Piccolboni Agricultural Company also deals with the production of other crops such as corn, wheat, and soybeans.

Vialone Nano rice is produced using an artisanal method to enhance all the organoleptic characteristics of the product. The Venere rice from Terre del Bosco is a fine variety, produced only by a few select agricultural companies. The Ermes red rice from Terre del Bosco is a special variety obtained from the crossbreeding of Venere rice and an elongated grain rice. The red coloration comes from some natural pigments contained in the outer part of the hulled grain. Ermes red rice is rich in fibers, vitamins, minerals, and proteins, with low carbohydrate content and high antioxidant properties.

The Ermes red rice has a delicate aroma, is healthy and nutritious, perfect to enjoy seasoned with just a drizzle of oil. It’s suitable for rice salads, with raw or cooked vegetables, and pairs very well with fish or vegetables, to be consumed instead of bread.

The Risottini from Terre del Bosco are fantastic ideas for those who want to enjoy specialties at any moment, even when not all the ingredients are at home! The recipes are traditional, such as pumpkin risottino and speck and zucchini risottino, made with Carnaroli rice and designed specifically for those who wish to savor a special risotto but do not have much time to prepare it. With the Terre del Bosco specialties, it’s easy to enjoy an artisanal specialty, ready in just a few minutes of preparation!

Each package is suitable for two or three servings and takes about 15-18 minutes to prepare. Just bring about 750 ml of broth to a boil, pour in the contents of the packet, and bring back to boil while cooking on low heat, without the need to stir. At the end of cooking, you can season to taste with salt, pepper, and a drizzle of oil, and it’s done.
