The collaboration between Merano WineFestival and Spaghetti&Mandolino is going on a trip. From February 1 to 3, Saturday, Sunday, and Monday, you will indeed find us in the wonderful Siena, a city rich in history and the hub of Tuscan wine production, at the fifth edition of the event Wine&Siena. A truly important event that inaugurates the entire year of food and wine appointments organized by our partner Merano WineFestival.
Wine&Siena is an event organized, thanks also to the close collaboration of the Confcommercio of Siena, the Chamber of Commerce Siena – Arezzo, and the Municipality of Siena, precisely to celebrate all the wine excellence awarded with The WineHunter Award, but not only, because it also pays special attention to food, which alongside wine undoubtedly represents an important slice of the Italian soul. The WineHunter Award is the award of excellence and high quality awarded annually, extremely coveted in the wine sector as it is given only after careful and expert tasting, supervised by the founding father and true soul of the The Winehunter project Helmuth Köcher.
Wine&Siena thus aims to be an opportunity to promote and enhance the excellence of Italian food and wine production, thus becoming an unmissable appointment for industry operators and enthusiasts.
The know-how of Merano WineFestival regarding the ability to search for and recognize the quality of wines on one side, and the know-how of Spaghetti&Mandolino regarding the quality of e-commerce service on the other, find their perfect setting in the truly picturesque environment of Palazzo Squarcialupi and Santa Maria della Scala.
The food and wine paths of this 2020 edition will indeed be held within these two magnificent historical buildings with the precise aim of intertwining the two souls of this city. Palazzo Squarcialupi and Santa Maria della Scala are two contiguous buildings located in the wonderful Piazza del Duomo of Siena, where the majestic Cathedral of Santa Maria Assunta stands, a fine example of Romanesque-Gothic architecture built between the 13th and 14th centuries.
Santa Maria della Scala is the largest palace that is extraordinarily granted as a location for the organization of this event; in fact, ordinarily, this palace is home to the homonymous museum complex displaying collections from antiquity to modern times, where there are countless historical-artistic testimonies, the ultimate synthesis of the city and its history.
Palazzo Squarcialupi is also located in the central Piazza del Duomo and will be the second main location where the food and wine tours of Wine&Siena will take place. Other iconic historical places of the city will also be featured in this unmissable event such as, for example, Palazzo Sansedoni or the renowned Palazzo Comunale in Piazza del Campo.
More than 170 exhibitors just for the wine sector in such a special setting makes Wine&Siena an event not to be missed, which is another reason why Spaghetti&Mandolino has decided to participate. But it is not just this, because there is much more.
At Wine&Siena, we at Spaghetti&Mandolino will be able to meet all the wineries in person to discuss this collaboration with Merano WineFestival, explain in detail what the project is about, but above all, tell the advantages of joining our portal. Spaghetti&Mandolino has indeed become the official e-commerce of Merano WineFestival, thus offering all the wines awarded annually with the The Winehunter Award, wines that represent only the best of the Italian wine scene each year.
On our portal, in the WineHunter section, a selection of the best Italian wines chosen and awarded by an institution in the wine sector like Merano WineFestival will be readily available, which, in addition to the skills, passion, and experience of Helmuth Köcher, boasts the collaboration of an international team of expert sommelier. A guarantee that you will bring directly to your home and savor in your glass!
The innovation of this fifth edition of Wine&Siena will be the presence of a web app, always conceived and created by our team, thanks to which anyone tasting a wine featured in the event will be able to vote for it and add it to their favorites simply by scanning a QR code attached to each individual wine present on the tasting tables. There will also be a QR code to directly visit the dedicated page to the winery, allowing you to discover other wines. A digital revolution that aims to give a boost to a meeting opportunity for industry professionals but also for wine enthusiasts, which is already unmissable in itself! Come visit us, we look forward to seeing you in Siena on February 1, 2, and 3, 2020.
