If we talk about breaking eggs, we at Spaghetti&Mandolino know a thing or two about it! In every sense... We define ourselves as serial egg breakers, due to our incredible ability to... how should I put it... be very demanding! We are like little hardworking and collaborative ants, striving every day to offer the best possible service to our customers.
Now that I have justified calling the S&M team like this, let’s start talking about how good the eggs are!
I believe the egg is one of those incredibly versatile ingredients in the kitchen, so much so that it can be paired with an almost infinite variety of foods and cooked using a myriad of techniques.
I must say that Richard Gere, or rather the journalist Ike Graham from the movie "If You Run, I’ll Marry You" was absolutely right. Yes, because the protagonist Maggie, played by Julia Roberts, was so indecisive about her passions and tastes that it seemed even in the culinary field she had no preferences. In fact, Ike tells her, "You're confused, you're so confused that you don't even know how you like your eggs!"
After watching the movie, I felt it was necessary to know what her preferred method of cooking eggs was, and after careful consideration, I arrived at a conclusion: poached eggs!
I couldn’t like anything but the most complex method of cooking an egg, but that’s beside the point.
I love the texture they take on: a sort of shiny white cloud hiding a creamy yellow-orange heart inside. A slight pressure with the edge of a fork is all it takes for the inside to ooze out, gradually spreading and enveloping the other components of the dish.
I asked some colleagues (yes, I broke a few eggs) how they preferred to cook this product, and after furrowing their brows a bit, slightly puzzled by the quirky request, each of them gave me their opinion on the matter.
The programming department didn’t hesitate for a second: the omelet, according to Enrico and Dennis, is the best!
Graphic designer Laura thought about it for a moment and after a few seconds exclaimed, "Ovi duri!" a Venetian dialect expression meaning hard-boiled eggs!
Piera from administration, on the other hand, loves eggs cooked in any way... except raw, of course! However, according to her, combining them with mascarpone to make a nice cream for tiramisu beats them all!
Now I move on to the marketing and communications department, where I find mixed opinions: Ilaria opts for the sunny-side up egg, also known as fried egg, or cooked in a pan. How could I argue with her!
Francesco, however, proposes his favorite recipe for eggs: scrambled with added bits of aged cheese and salami!
Now I ask Greta from the sales department how she likes her eggs, and her answer is: soft-boiled egg!
The soft-boiled egg is a regular hard-boiled egg but cooked for a shorter time and once taken out of the boiling water after about 5 minutes, it must be plunged into cold water to stop the cooking. Doing this, the white is perfectly cooked while the yolk remains soft.
Now you're wanting some, right?
Everyone has their own tastes, and thanks to them, I could present you with so many different and imaginative ways to cook eggs.
Ah, in the end, Maggie (Julia Roberts) realizes she likes oyster eggs and hates all other types of eggs.
And what about you?
Try out the various techniques, and to do so, I recommend using our eggs, from The Garda Egg Co., which are superior eggs, coming from virtuous farms!
And to experience more flavors and aromas, they also have their colored eggs!
Did you think the article was over? Oh no, we still have the preference of Fabio, the CEO of Spaghetti & Mandolino, which we wanted to save for last (actually, he is always out of the office and so I could only ask him once the article was completed, but anyway): simply, his favorite eggs are chocolate ones! And big surprise: we also have those on our portal, that is to say, those from Domori!
Now, yes, the article is finished. Bye.
