Nice to meet you, I'm Fabio. I'm the dad of Spaghetti & Mandolino, a lover of good food and good wine.
The flavors of the land have always been my passion, which is why I founded this e-commerce, to bring rare, genuine, and artisanal products to the tables of Italians.
I define myself as a wine lover, but I don't intend to present my favorites with an endless list of organoleptic characteristics that define them.
I love wine. Love is passion, and it would be reductive to encapsulate the emotions that its taste gifts you in a mere bullet point list.
For me, every wine is an experience, every glass is a gift you give to yourself, every sip a melody you taste and not hear.
And every wine has its own occasion, it can be enjoyed in company, but also alone, and make any moment better.
It's 11:59 PM on a Friday night. The workweek has ended, but I'm still here in front of the computer, tidying up a few things for Spaghetti & Mandolino. It's starting to get cold outside, and it's better to be inside in the warmth. I take a moment away from my laptop and head to the kitchen.
I grab a nice wide glass and choose a bottle of red: White Label Colli della Toscana Centrale IGT from the I Balzini winery.
I remove the cork and pour the wine until it's halfway full. Let's say a little more than halfway.
I sit back at the desk: in front of me my Spaghetti project, in hand the ruby red glass that emits an amazing aroma.
A moment just for me, I'm alone with my thoughts, my ideas, and I accompany myself with this Tuscan red to conclude the evening in the best way.
Red wines are important, they encapsulate intense flavors and intoxicating aromas and can also be enjoyed at dinner, with a nice dish of red meat.
The Brunello di Montalcino DOCG BIO from Casa Raia winery and the Valpolicella Ripasso DOC Superiore from Le Guaite di Noemi are my favorites, representing two lands I adore: Tuscany and Veneto.
After this full-immersion in red wine, I want to move to its opposite, the white. White wine is synonymous with lightness, clarity, and elegance.
I fondly remember a dinner with friends, entirely based on fish, magnificently accompanied by a Bozzovich Bianco Beneventano IGP from Ocone Vini.
So many conversations and laughs, a pleasant moment that I associate with this particular bottle.
Another white I would definitely recommend anyone try is the Terminum Gewurztraminer Alto Adige DOC from the Tramin winery, which I love to enjoy in every situation, alone or paired with a simple and light dish.
But wines are certainly not limited to red or white! There is a category of wines whose color is perfectly midway between white and red: rosé.
Well, I love rosé with bubbles. The Rosé Instinct Franciacorta Brut from Franciacorta Belon is a wine you won't forget, enjoyed to make a meal special, instilling a feeling of celebration and togetherness.
Personally, it's not my favorite wine, but I remember tasting the Spumante Brut Rosé Vigneti delle Dolomiti IGT from Pojer e Sandri in delightful female company at a work meeting, and I admit I appreciated it even more in that particular situation.
And for aperitif, what does Fabio drink? The Blanc De Blancs Trento Brut DOC BIO, of course. A wine from Maso Martis, but this time I'm talking about a sparkling wine.
This more than any other is synonymous with celebration, joy, and vitality, and I dedicate to it all my best memories, the happy moments, like that time I celebrated with colleagues, an unforgettable day.
The flavor, the color, and the sparkling bubbles of that wine make the spirit effervescent and brighten the day.
Sipping a glass of wine is an incredible experience, especially if it's a good quality wine!
Personally, I associate every bottle with a specific memory, an important occasion, or even just a certain food.
Do you agree with me? Take a look at our selection of wines, you won't be disappointed!
