The Olive Factory is a company specialized in the processing of olives and vegetables from Italian and European farms.
"The beauty of good things" is exactly this the motto of the company. The reason? For them, good things refer to traditions, and also the eye wants its part, hence the "beauty". What is traditional is genuine, and so are the products of the Olive Factory.

The production chain starts from participation in the harvesting to arrive at packaging. The products are processed using modern technologies and carefully following the process that turns the semi-finished products into ready-to-eat items. Everything is done while maintaining the commitment to craftsmanship that has characterized the company over the years and allowed it to establish itself.

The founder of the Olive Factory is Domenico Maiello who in 2019 decided to create a business for processing and selling olives. However, the experience in the field began much earlier: the paternal grandfather, in his spare time, was engaged in door-to-door sales of olives, while the maternal grandfather had a stall at the Fuorigrotta market, where he sold olives, but also cured meats and cheeses.
The turning point came in 1982, when Domenico and Maria's father founded a company called "Maiellolive Sud". The experience of the founder of the Olive Factory is twenty years. Over the years, in fact, Domenico specialized in the preparation and sale of olives and related products. Thus, the Olive Factory is a true love story in the olive sector.

Today the company processes olives in Campania, (here you find our selection of Campania products) specifically in Castellammare di Stabia, but most of the raw materials come from Sicily. Both territories are characterized by traditions and flavors, which make the company's products so unique.

We love these realities, these producers of unique, certified and award-winning delicacies: they are true treasures set in our Peninsula between seas and mountains and in the most remote streets of villages and countryside. We do not limit ourselves to living only their products, but we want to discover more closely the protagonists of this brand. That’s why we sent some questions to those who manage communication with us.

  • Who are we talking to?
    I am Maria Maiello.I have a degree in finance and I am in charge of online sales and social channels. I also try to help in the office, regarding invoicing and email management.
     
  • Is the company family-run? For how many generations and from what year exactly?
    The company is family-run. Besides the founder Domenico, there is me as the sister, brother-in-law Giovanni, and another young man named Christian. Even the paternal grandfather, in his spare time, dedicated himself to door-to-door olive sales. The maternal grandfather, on the other hand, had a stall at the Fuorigrotta market where he sold not only olives but also cured meats and cheeses. The turning point was in 1982 when the founder's father founded the company under the name “Maiellolive Sud”.
     
  • Who was the founder? What was the founder's background or what was their previous professional field if different from the current one?
    “The Olive Factory” was born two years ago. Domenico Maiello is the founder. Although the company is young, the founder has twenty years of experience in the preparation and sale of olives and related products because he worked in the same field at his father's company founded in 1982.
     
  • What is the true reason or triggering fact behind the creation of this company and when did it occur?
    Independence and desire for innovation
     
  • What is your relationship with the land of origin and its uniqueness? And why do you want to tell it through your products?
    Our raw materials mostly come from Sicily. The processing takes place in Campania, specifically in Castellammare di Stabia, a land rich in traditions and flavors just like our products.
     
  • What was the first product you created?
    The first product we created and put on the market was the classic Sicilian green olives in the 5 Kg format intended for retail points such as delicatessens and supermarkets.
     
  • What is the product that you now consider to be your “flagship”?
    The products that we currently consider to be flagship are those in olive oil and ready to be enjoyed, such as the fantastic “Olive alla Puttanesca” or “Olive alla Zingarella
     
  • And what is the product that throughout the history of the company has best represented the beating heart, philosophy, and soul of the company itself?
    From the beginning, the beating heart of the company has been Sicilian green olives. The most loved by adults and also by children.
     
  • Let's talk about today: how much has the company grown since its inception? Can we have some figures?
    We started really from scratch in terms of structure and machinery. To give some numbers, I could mention that the turnover has increased by about 50% in two years.
     
  • In this moment: more tradition or more innovation?
    If I could express the answer in percentage, I would attribute 30% to tradition and 70% to innovation.
     
  • What has been the most important evolution of the company to bring it to what it is today?
    One of the most important evolutions has been the packaging change. From simple plastic bags, we have moved to jars with lids that are certainly very popular with end consumers.
     
  • Speaking of the future: what tomorrow awaits the company? Is there any planned changes or new evolutionary processes?
    We dream of attracting tourists to our reality. By making some structural changes, we would like to attract tourists to show the evolutionary process that brings our products to the table.
     
  • Do you plan to create new products?
    The latest product created is “Olive alla Zingarella”, but we have plans to create new olive oil products and new formats.
     
  • Having focused on Spaghetti & Mandolino, how important is online sales for you, what has been your past relationship with this sales channel and how do you see it in the future?
    We believe that online sales are very important for the future, as well as the key to reaching the hearts of all Italians.
     
  • Value: what has it been, what is it today, and what will it be in the future for your company?
    “The beauty of good things”. Good, tasty things that reflect tradition. The beauty, because the eye also wants its part.
