Taste Florence 2022: the day at the fair

It is always a great joy to arrive at such an event, rather "The Fair" of Italian excellence.
This year is lacking in foreign buyers (I believe they will return to hunting for delicacies by mid-year), but as usual, it is rich in food innovations and more.

Taste Florence 2022: the favorites

Starting with the non-number 1s: in new entries, I think TOOA has won, not just gelato from Fabriano (AN).

Who will have more success in the future, in a wider consumption: All In on Wilden Herbals, infusions and super fermented drinks from Milan.

For indulgence and charm, I choose Grimaldi: elegant products based on Giffoni hazelnuts, highly enjoyable.

Marmalade: Fruttanuda from Monte Porzio Catone (RM) wins hands down.

Another delicacy for chestnut lovers: the Leopoldina from Sorano (GR).

Fig? Actually figs? The excellences of Santomiele from Cilento... chapeau.

This year, I was surprised by the honey from the Anconetano Giorgio Poeta.

I finish with a cookie (Cantucci), fascinated by the Beauty and when they say "I eat it with my eyes" HERE IT IS! Lo Sfizio from Montelupo Fiorentino (FI) Japan-Italy.

Piadina? No! This time a super Crescia from Urbino, with a peppery dough... dreamy.

I move on to fish: Trout and products from the Nera river in the Sibillini mountains, very very good from Cherubini of Visso (MC).

Salmon the "Classic" from the Coda Nera company.

What can I say about the selection of cheeses from Luigi Guffanti, the cheese breeder? Top as always.

I finish the food section with the Apulians from Fratepietro, with succulent products and a Bella di Cerignola Nera olive of immense harmony.

Enjoyed an original Toscano cigar just beautifully executed.

At the award ceremony organized by the Compagnia del Cioccolato, I tasted the top, and I must admit that even large companies manage to create products of the highest level, now I'm ordering them!

P.S. I relaxed with a Hemp Beer from San Gabriel at Ponte di Piave and then with the Pregevole from Via dei Birrai 32.

Finally, upon exiting, I bought in the shop, fresh and not at reasonable prices.

Thank you and see you next year.
