Obtained from 100% Turbiana grape varieties, the Lugana Superiore DOC named after the Sanctuary of Our Lady of Discovery is awarded the Gambero Rosso Three Glasses: selected among the 30 best wines in Lombardy, the white wine produced from sustainable agriculture bears the name of Lonato del Garda (BS) and its Pearl, the estate of more than 30 hectares directed by the able hand of Giovanna Prandini.
Already winner of the title in 2019, Lugana Superiore reaffirms its ability to conquer the palate of connoisseurs, as well as the hearts of lovers of the Garda territory. Lugana wines make up the majority of Perla's production volume, constituting the most identifying and leading labels; the Superiore brand was created to strive for excellence, a complex taste, rich in fruity notes, that is both long-lasting and destined for fruitful maturation. Isn't a prize enough? In this case, there is a double win: Lugana has in fact also been awarded the “Gold” award by The
Wine Hunter.

“Three Glasses of Gambero Rosso are an important achievement for us,” explains Giovanna. “For years we have been working with dedication, interpreting the native Turbiana grapes in all the types of the Lugana Doc Disciplinary. Receiving this award of excellence honors us as ambassadors of Made in Italy and rewards teamwork that, from the vineyard to the bottle, is dedicated to quality and sustainability
.”
The grapes from which Lugana Superiore derives are located at a height of about 150-250 meters above sea level, in an area where the soil is calcareous-clay, of moraine origin. The vines of about twenty years old in this case are grown in Guyot, with a density of 5,000 vines per hectare; the harvest takes place in September, with an exclusively manual harvest
.
The wine was created to be combined with the products of the territory that gave it its birth, or with risotto and lake fish: to give a couple of examples, risotto with Tremosine cheese or baked whitefish could be perfect pairings. If tasted in view of the Garda landscape, then, Lugana is appreciated even more easily, as the eye glides over the enchanting landscape of the
place.
If until 2006 the estate produced grapes without continuing with the vinification activity, for sixteen years now it has been completing the supply chain, monitoring every step, taking into account all the denominations of the reference regulations (in particular, for Lugana, the youngest and freshest, the Riserva, the Superiore and small niche productions such as the late harvest).
Already in 2007, the first award arrived for Mother of Pearl 2006, included in the list of the One Hundred Best Wines in Italy: from now on, the fame of Perla del Garda grows from year to year, hand in hand with the desire to invest in tradition and territory, in the quality and potential of a wine like Lugana
