At the World Cheese Awards 2022, bronze goes to Fior di Pepe

On Tuesday, November 2, 2022, the World Cheese Awards 2022 took place in Wales at the International Convention Centre Wales in Newport.

But what is the World Cheese Awards 2022?

It is the world event par excellence in the dairy world, in which the best cheeses in the world are called to participate, where producers, suppliers and retailers, consumers and food critics acclaim tradition, innovation, talent and passion.
The event, organized by the Guild of Fine Food, a publisher of magazines that deal with gourmet food, took place for the first time in 1988 at the London Food Exhibition in London. Initially, it was conceived to extend the cheese market, make them known to a larger number of people and at the same time reward high-quality cheeses in the dairy

sector.

Now in its 34th edition this year with more than 4000 competing cheeses from 40 countries, it is the biggest dairy challenge in the world! It gives cheeses from all continents the opportunity to emerge worldwide in front of international experts and consumers. This edition, compared to previous years, had a boom in registrations, even from countries unusual for cheese production such as Canada, Argentina, Slovenia, Israel and Ukraine

How did the 2022 World Cheese Awards take place

All 4,434 cheeses were tasted in a single day by 250 judges from 38 different countries. The Bronze, Silver, Gold and Super Gold awards were awarded during the morning session before the Super Golds were re-evaluated to find the best 16 cheeses of quest&' year and the world champion cheese.
Critics evaluate cheeses according to some common characteristics: rind, body, color, structure, texture and taste.
As you can guess, therefore, it is a real honor to be able to take part in this prestigious competition and the aspiration to win a prize is a must for every participant

Cheese from Fattoria Giambrone wins bronze at the global dairy event

We are honored to announce that our Sicilian partner Fattoria Giambrone has won bronze thanks to the quality and peculiarity of its 'Fior di Pepe', a cheese with a very special taste produced by hand using the highest quality raw cow's milk.

Here are the words of Marco Giambrone, owner of the farm, after receiving the award: “We are delighted to have won the bronze medal at the World Cheese Awards of quest&' year for our Fior di Pepe. Having the seal of approval from so many cheese experts is priceless for a cheesemaker. At our company, we put everything we have in our cheeses and strive only to achieve the best for our customers, so winning this trophy shows that it was worth it. For us it was the first edition and even though we were fully convinced of the quality of our product, we really didn't expect a worldwide confirmation of this magnitude.”
Aware of the quality and goodness of this excellence; we renew our compliments for all the work and passion that Marco and his staff put every day into the production

of their cheeses.
