Online sales of food products are on the rise according to data presented at the Netcomm ecommerce Forum held in Milan last April.
The loyalty of Italian consumers is especially increasing as they seek something that is good, rare, identity-driven, and typical. Italians are beginning to trust various online stores, thanks to their ability to gather references and verify credibility and consistency.
There is also significant interest in the fresh and super fresh sector. This is thanks to innovative packaging technologies and increasingly efficient shipping services.
In this vein, Spaghetti & Mandolino also intends to launch a project for selling fruits online and vegetables by reservation, thus ensuring the freshness of the product. We are against products that have ripened in the refrigerator. We have chosen small producers and young farmers who harvest the fruits and vegetables on the same day as the order is made.
After the harvest period, we have agreed with the companies that the ripe product will be stored in their warehouses at temperatures that prevent deterioration. But only for a well-defined period, as short as possible. For cherries, only for a maximum of one month. This means having products always ripened to the right point, with their correct taste, all their flavor, and all their aroma.
How many times do we find ourselves saying, this fruit has no taste... With Spaghetti & Mandolino, we will select the fruits that are logically best suited for distribution within 24 hours while maintaining all their main organoleptic properties. We will also look for zero residue fruits, following integrated pest management, untreated with chemicals, and, where possible, certified organic.
We are not only interested in "I like it because it is good," but we aim for "we like it because it is good for you." We started with Illasi cherries, then with Bisi de Colognola.
We will present products that tell stories of Italian people who love typical products, who challenge the market for endangered fruits and vegetables.
Our goal will be to bring you closer to forgotten but delicious products, often unapproachable in terms of quality compared to what is offered by the medium and large distribution market.
