For many people, it's more important to receive awards than to give them. On the other hand, we like the opposite!
Not that we don't like to receive awards (otherwise we wouldn't go to Fico on 23 and 24 February to collect two awards for Spaghetti & Mandolino and Doctor Chili Pepper, awarded among the top 100 e-commerce in the national food sector), but rewarding is something else because it allows us to pay attention to the elements that make a brand, a person, a product interesting, and therefore learn, learn, learn.
Learn because the goal of Spaghetti & Mandolino is precisely to communicate and make enthusiasts appreciate the best of Made in Italy producers and products in the food and wine sector, relying on all 5 senses.
The award stems from the collaboration with Compagnia del Cioccolato (the largest Italian association that deals with Chocolate - www.ciocolato.it) and from the training/communication path undertaken with them.
Chocolate is a bit like wine: there are different types and for each type there are infinite facets created by the raw material and the skill of the chocolatier.
We attended the selections, participated in the evaluation panels and tasted a part of the more than 1,200 'samples' received (and I assure you that everyone was different and it was nice to evaluate them beyond
Obviously, we could not reward Spaghetti & Mandolino for the quality of the chocolate, for its goodness or other parameters that do not compete (again, because everyone in the company is studying to become Chocolate Tester)
We have awarded the chocolatier who most impressed us for his communicative effectiveness.
Among those selected by Compagnia del Cioccolato, we decided to reward Sabadì.
Packaging: the proposed packages bring together any type of consumer attracted by colors and designs that are very different from almost any other chocolate.
Naming: each product has its own name that characterizes it, which outlines its personality and already snatches a smile of sympathy and complicity even before tasting.
Personality: the two previous elements, combined with the history of Sabaini and the contents present online, transmit - to us and to informed consumers - all the personality and consistency of the brand.
Simple, we asked Stefano Costato, our designer and street designer, to work on the plate in order to bring our message as consistently as possible to the image. The plate was then inserted into the design of a wine package that contained inside a bottle from a producer who was part of the producers' club. And it's not over...
To complete our concept of circularity, we asked Stefano Bugamelli, our ambassador, Chocolate Tester and one of the polar stars of the project, to go on stage and read the reasons for the award because he was one of my first mentors in the sector.
