There are few things certain in life, and among them is definitely the fact that sooner or later we will find ourselves in the situation of having to chill a bottle of white wine in a few minutes.
So, how can we speed up the chilling of a bottle of wine in just a few minutes?
Here are 4 easy methods that allow us not to have to drink our sparkling wine warm:
Wet towel: wrap the bottle of sparkling wine in a wet towel and place it in the freezer for about 15-20 minutes. The damp towel will allow the bottle to cool down much faster.
Don’t want to use a towel? A properly dampened paper towel works just fine.
Ice bucket: fill a bucket or a container large enough to hold the bottle of sparkling wine with ice cubes. Add cold water but most importantly a handful of salt to lower the temperature. Then immerse the bottle in the bucket and gently swirl it for about 10-15 minutes. The cold water and ice will help cool the bottle quickly.
Cold mist: use a cooling spray or a cold water sprayer and spray it on the bottle of sparkling wine. The rapid evaporation of the cold water will cause quick cooling of the bottle.
Shake the bottle: fill the usual ice bucket and add cold water and salt as described in the second point. Insert the bottle of sparkling wine into the bucket and shake it quickly for about 5 minutes. This method will accelerate the cooling process.
