A new prestigious milestone for the e-commerce portal Spaghetti & Mandolino.
The online sales project for premium Italian food products was launched about a year ago by a group of young entrepreneurs from Verona, supported by an Italian wine and food expert.
Gruppo Volta and Bernardo Pasquali are ensuring a prominent place for this interesting and innovative Venetian start-up, with its “slightly” ironic name, in the distance selling landscape. Connections with numerous Italian producers have gradually expanded the product selection, which now offers around 700 items. The only portal in Italy to provide technical content and insights on the history, culture, and traditions of Italian food and wine. A portal that, in addition to sales, aims to promote the Italian agro-food heritage, focusing on rare products excluded from mainstream distribution. Special attention is given to small producers of excellence, who are the true soul of the project.
Spaghetti & Mandolino has also recently crossed the frontier of delivering fresh fruits and typical fresh vegetables online, directly from farms and only with tree-ripened products. The idea is to bring the field closer to the consumer and offer products otherwise unknown in the traditional sales chain.
The portal’s visits and sales have seen steady growth, now confirming daily access rates of around 700–800 visits.
Since June, the young S&M team has achieved another important result with another international-level Verona-based company in the food sector. This is the new start-up by Società Sistema Pianura of Isola della Scala, owner of the Risamore brand. This is a new franchise network of risotteries that uses a highly innovative and quality-preserving cooking process for Vialone Nano rice, which allows rice to be cooked in less than 3 minutes while maintaining the quality of a traditionally prepared risotto.
Risamore has won the award for best food franchise start-up project at the Milan Franchise Fair for two consecutive years. In less than a year, it has opened risotteries in Krakow, Verona, Milan, and Berlin. Additionally, Risamore operates important temporary stores featuring rice-based products at Verona’s Catullo Airport and manages food services within the rice cluster in the Sierra Leone pavilion at EXPO Milan 2015.
S&M will exclusively manage e-commerce for the rice start-up’s products, bringing to risotteries and stores the ability to purchase via touchscreen, with home delivery or purchasing the products “tasted” in the risotteries. Additionally, e-commerce customers can pick up their orders at one of the upcoming organized collection points.
This partnership also increases the number of Italian products available to consumers to approximately 1,000 items, thanks to rice-based products and a wide selection of typical Italian products by Risamore.
This solution is positioning the young Veronese of S&M as one of the most extensive portals for quality Italian agro-food selection and offering in the online marketplace.
