They say that Italians are the only ones who can talk about food with great love, seriousness and enthusiasm; that they organize dinners, lunches with friends, get-together situations to enjoy the pleasure of food with loved ones and to discuss, among other things, other food, extraordinary tried products, a particularly refined wine that has aroused an emotion. Spaghetti & Mandolino was born just like that, over a plate of homemade gnocchi in the kitchen of a journalist friend specialized in food (the person who proposed the name to me), combining passion and technology, good taste and the desire to do something extraordinary, in an area in which we are famous in the world. Let me introduce myself, my name is Fabio De Vecchi, CEO of the communication agency Gruppo Volta.

Spaghetti & Mandolino (or simply Spaghetti for everyone involved in the project) was founded on November 3, 2015. The mission pursued since that day has been to be antagonists of standards, to go against the tide: to promote Italian food and wine culture starting from the little great interpreters of beauty at the table, composing a storytelling applied to the products of the earth and human creativity, satisfying every day people who wanted to bring that particular product or that particular wine to their table.

Research is the beginning of this adventure. Our expert selectors travel around Italy every day to find excellent local producers with passion. Dairies, charcuterie factories, wineries, pasta factories, producers of unique, certified and award-winning delicacies: real treasures nestled in our Peninsula between seas and mountains and in the most remote streets of villages and countryside. All this with the mission of valuing the true Italian food and wine culture, with an eye to farmers, to young agricultural entrepreneurs who want to tell about their relationship with their land of origin and the sacrifice for having chosen to produce real specialties or recovered unique rarities in the world.

Once a manufacturer is discovered, its products are carefully evaluated and selected. As you can see, every product you find on this site will never be a product that you will find in large retailers. Often they are products with limited availability, with small production volumes: an alpine cheese or one aged in a cave, a wine aged in barrels for years, a sausage renowned in the world and processed according to traditions that have almost disappeared. The quality guarantee is twofold: to you, because we dedicate to you delicacies that are almost unobtainable and difficult to find; to the Local Producer, who will never find himself at the side of industrial brands and distributed on the anonymous and dispiriting circuits of large retailers. The criteria with which we evaluate and select each individual product are naturalness, genuineness of the ingredients and raw materials, pleasantness, the story that that particular product has to tell through its flavor.

Once the most deserving and coveted products have been selected, they are placed on Spaghetti&Mandolino and made available for online purchase. But it is not, in reality, a simple purchase: choosing to receive this excellence at home means knowing such special characteristics that perhaps you would never have encountered. In one click you can buy typical products from distant regions and have them on your table after a long journey, making you wait only a few days for delivery, in the face of a real treasure that you can enjoy on your table. The love, dedication, stubbornness and perseverance of these producers who create works of art deserve your patience in waiting for them. It took them decades, sometimes centuries, to perfect production and processing. The delivery can take from two to eight days, the reason is that the preparation of the order requires care and precision; but above all, since it is not an assembly line, the production is tailor-made, at the time of your order.

We come from the city of love, Verona. We started from what was a small warehouse and now our warehouse is about 500 square meters dedicated entirely to the products that we will then ship to you. An ideal environment for storing both food products and wines, also because we have a lot of valuable wines. We try to repeat it often, it is an honor for us to be able to bring our dream to your home, to put the best Italian cuisine in our boxes.
