Heinrichshof is one of the oldest wineries in Bolzano. The Heinrichshof vines grow on blessed soil: we are in the land of blessed Arrigo da Bolzano, who was born around 1250 right on the Heinrichshof farm, where he also spent his youth and where it is said that he worked as a teenager in the vineyards. Even today, Blessed Arrigo is venerated as the patron of Bolzano in the small church dedicated to him located right next to the farm.
One hundred years ago, to reach the Heinrichshof farm, it was necessary to leave the city of Bolzano and walk north for about a quarter of an hour on a bumpy road through vineyards and meadows until reaching the Dorf (Villa) of Bolzano. In recent decades, the town has grown and today the Heinrichshof vineyards are the first to be found on the sunny slopes just outside the city center. With the winery directly on the farm, Heinrichshof is the closest winery to Bolzano. Viticulture has a centuries-old tradition, as do the stories related to the Heinrichshof farm winery.
In 2003, Georg Oberrauch built a completely new underground cellar in the vineyard, introducing new technologies that have made it possible to obtain fine wines of the highest quality. Since then, Heinrichshof wine has been considered the best wine in the Bolzano area
