The Tomarchio family boasts a century-old tradition as the homonymous company was founded in Acireale, in the province of Catania, under the shadow of Mount Etna, back in 1920. It all started when Filippo Tomarchio decided to start producing the first artisanal bottle that was distributed “door to door” in small wooden crates. The soda was packaged, for instance, in the then widely used and characteristic bottle with a marble, which contained a small glass marble inside. Tomarchio thus took its first steps in the territory of Acireale and then expanded, within about 40 years of activity, throughout the Etna province and, in the 1980s, to the entire regional territory. Today, after more than a century, while keeping its roots firmly in Sicily, Tomarchio has extended its boundaries to the rest of Italy and in as many as 21 countries abroad, establishing itself as a true excellence of made in Sicily.
TOMARCHIO: THE AUTHENTIC TASTE OF SICILY
The Tomarchio beverages best represent the true and authentic taste of the wonderful island that is Sicily. Tomarchio drinks are prepared, just like in the past, using only simple and genuine ingredients, symbols of Sicilian identity, so as not to alter the unique and unparalleled taste over time: only the juices of the best citrus fruits freshly squeezed under the warm Sicilian sun, the water coming from the slopes of Mount Etna, rich in minerals and with an unmistakable taste. All this is finally combined with a artisanal production that respects the processing methodhanded down with care from the diligent and passionate work carried out over 100 years by the company and by three generations of the Tomarchio family members.
TOMARCHIO: A STORY OF EXCELLENCE
Throughout its long years of activity, Tomarchio has also received several certifications of excellence such as Eccellenze Italiane (No. 6185), Vegan OK, USDA Organic, IT BIO EU Agriculture (Controlled operator No. 640W), BRC Food Certified, and finally IFS Food. All of this strongly affirms the spirit with which this company is dedicated to the artisanal production of high-quality beverages, healthy and with an unmistakable taste, always keeping an attentive eye on the environment and the needs of all its consumers.
Tomarchio is indeed strongly committed to ensuring safe products with the utmost respect for the environment and its consumers. Through constant checks and monitoring of the production chain, their team of experts carries out physical, chemical, microbiological, and organoleptic checks throughout the production process of each beverage. They operate under strict certification controls of processes and products so that these can reach the final customer with all the guarantees of a qualitatively perfect drink. From production to distribution, the goal has always been one: sustainable development that protects the territory by promoting the reduction of energy and water consumption to contain waste. For all its beverages, Tomarchio exclusively uses raw materials from the Sicilian territory, with a short and controlled supply chain.
TOMARCHIO AND THE BOND WITH THE TERRITORY
A small curiosity: in 2011, sharing its mission and vision, Tomarchio also signed the Development Pact of the Citrus Production District of Sicily, the first regional project for the safeguarding and enhancement of the citrus heritage of the island. This opportunity immediately allowed for increasingly virtuous synergies with the actors in the supply chain involved, based on a shared vision for the broader and common project of defending the raw material and the territory. The BIO line and the Delicious & Authentic line are therefore the first “fruits” of this collaboration between the company, the District, and the main Protection Consortia of the island.
