The headquarters of the Agricultural Cooperative Society Vallenostra is located in the heart of Val Borbera, straddling Piemonte and Liguria, in the province of Alessandria. The business has been carried on for over twenty years by Roberto Grattone and Agata Marchesotti, pioneers of an authentic and respectful tourism activity in a territory that is still unspoiled, rich in historical-cultural, archaeological, and gastronomic interest sites. Vallenostra boasts the management of its own artisanal dairy in Mongiardino Ligure, where, thanks to the enterprise and passion of Roberto and Agata, important work aimed at recovering and enhancing the territory has been carried out.

The dairy, in addition to producing cheeses with raw cow’s milk and sheep’s milk, as was done in a distant past, is open for visits. Among others, the most famous and renowned cheese is undoubtedly the Montébore which is produced following an ancient recipe that, however, risked being lost forever after World War II but which today, thanks to the immense work carried out by the Agricultural Cooperative Society Vallenostra, the only global producer of this cheese, has been rediscovered, bringing to light a cheese that is more unique than rare and has even become a Slow Food Presidia able to amaze, due to its delicacy, even the finest palates.

Also in Mongiardino Ligure, one can find an agriturismo where skilled hands are able to interpret with great mastery and imagination all the fruits of the magnificent land of Bassa Piemonte, with products that are strictly seasonal and at Km0. One can therefore undoubtedly say that the Agricultural Cooperative Society Vallenostra is a reality born under the banner of rediscovering ancient flavors, in a perspective of protection and transmission of all those peasant traditions that have long been the symbol of an entire territory's identity.
