De Stefani: scopri i prodotti

The De Stefani family is originally from Refrontolo, a hilly village in Veneto in Italy, as shown by official documents from 1624.
In the second half of 1800, Valeriano De Stefani, the founder, identified the best land to produce wines with a strong personality in the Colvendrame estate in Refrontolo, on the hills between Conegliano and Valdobbiadene, north of Venice.

His son Valeriano, second generation, inspired by his fussy wife Angelina, began the tradition that De Stefani have always adhered to: total dedication to uncompromising quality.

Tiziano, the third generation, went into the Piave Valley, identifying in the Le Ronche farms in Fossalta di Piave and Pra&' Longo in Monastier di Treviso, both northeast of Venice and located near the Adriatic Sea and the Dolomite mountains, highly suitable soils composed of “caranto”: a mixture of white clay and minerals from the Dolomites. Respecting ancient family traditions, he brought important qualitative innovations in vineyard management and vinification.

Today, Alessandro De Stefani, the fourth generation, produces wines according to a very natural philosophy, from old vines with very high density. Valuing native vines, it has developed a worldwide distribution, with a production limited to 400,000 bottles per year produced from 60 hectares of vineyards, reported in the most important Guides.

10 Good Motives for choosing De Stefani

1. Four generations in the De Stefani family vineyards!
For four generations we have been handing down the passion for the cultivation of vines and the &' art of producing wines with a rare personality.

2. Perfect microclimate!
Our vineyards are located in Veneto in the Piave Valley between the Adriatic Sea and the Dolomite mountains, and in the hills between Conegliano and Valdobbiadene.

3. A unique terrain: the Caranto!
Our grapes grow in a land called "Caranto" considered by many scientists to be one of the best for viticulture. It is a special combination of clay, silt and minerals from the Dolomites.

4. 8,400 vines per hectare over 30 years old!
We have vineyards over 30 years old with 8,400 vines per hectare reared to guyot. This allows us to produce very few grapes per plant, between 350 and 950 grams, with great concentration and aromatic richness of the grapes.

5. Native grapes and individual vineyards!
We produce original wines made mainly from indigenous varieties: Marzemino, Raboso, Refosco, Glera and Tocai. For some wines that we bottle, we use grapes that come from a single vineyard, to emphasize the characteristics of this small area.

6. Unique winemaking techniques!
To give more character to our wines, we use special vinification techniques, including our exclusive "Zero Method" and l&' drying the grapes.

7. We respect nature!
We work according to biological and biodynamic principles. We vinify our wines without adding sulphites. We produce 100% of &' energy that we use with our 418 solar panels. Let the must ferment with our indigenous yeasts!

8. We only bottle worthy vintages in limited quantities!
As an absolute guarantee of the quality offered, we only bottle vintages that meet our quality expectations. The quantity is limited to the limited production of each wine, making it an artisanal work.
