Perla del Garda is a brand that has its roots first in the Verona area and now in the lands of Lonato del Garda, in the province of Brescia. That of the Perla del Garda company is a family-run story that officially began only in the 2000s, although in reality it is much more remote and older since the Prandini family, from generation to generation, has kept alive the custom of growing vines and producing wine, being able to count, even today, on a vast tradition and knowledge that serve as solid foundations in the development of this activity. Today, the backbone of the company is Giovanna Prandini, who, together with her brother Ettore, decided to seize the opportunity to expand her family activities. This is how, from the simple sale and cultivation of grapes, the production, under its own brand, of excellent wines began, whose perfumes, aromas and the same processing are inextricably linked to the wealth of the territory and to
family secrets.
Perla del Garda: the wine that is produced in the vineyard, before in the cellar
The
strength of the Pearl of Garda is the 0 km supply chain. Since this is a farm, the grapes are directly cultivated, thus allowing all production processes to be followed starting from the raw material. The vineyards, located between Desenzano and Sirmione, are spread over about thirty hectares, of which 90% is occupied by Trebbiano di Lugana, but also by chardonnay, merlot, cabernet sauvignon and other cultivars.
Perla del Garda is the only winery in the area to have introduced fall vinification, inspired by the processing of grapes and musts by gravity without the aid of pumps until the end of the fermentation process.
The wine is produced in the vineyard, rather than in the cellar. It was following this philosophy that, at the end of the 80s, a new, more authentic and genuine relationship began to understand the difference between organic and conventional agriculture, the importance of grassing and the characteristics of moraine hills with stony soil more than 250m above sea level. The result is fruit of the highest quality and a production that meets the highest quality standards, thus allowing the company to obtain the MAKE IT SUSTAINABLE certification, becoming the first Sustainable Lugana
.
Perla del Garda wines: every Lugana is a &' unique experience
In the production of wines, there are three work plans and they coincide with the main processing phases: the arrival of the grapes with the selection of the bunches, the vinification at a controlled temperature, the aging in barrels and the aging in the bottle. Lugana is the wine of the Territory and the Pearl of Garda has decided to reinterpret it in all its types, recreating a real journey to learn about the depth of the wine and its aromatic nuances. Lugana is in fact one of the few white wines still with an excellent aging capacity and it is for this reason that the Perla del Garda has decided to decline it according to different vintages, making each bottle a unique experience. In this regard, the Lugana della Perla del Garda have multiple awards, and are even included in the category of Italian excellence drawn up
