The Azienda Agricola Vetrère is one of the most important wine-producing realities in the province of Taranto. The wines from the Vetrère winery are characterized by the right sugar and alcohol content and good fixed acidity, which contributes to enhancing their aromas and maintaining them over time.

Vetrère: centuries of traditions and passion

The first reliable records of the estate date back to the 1600s, when Baroque flourished in Salento, leaving behind valuable architectural testimonies. An ancient map from the 1700s shows that the Azienda Agricola Vetrère belonged to the Troilo family. In 1903, Serafina Troilo married Michele Ammazzalorsa, who left his holdings to his nephew Enrico Bruni, father of the current owners. Today, the company is led by Annamaria and Francesca.

Azienda Agricola Vetrère, nestled on the stretch of land that descends from the southern Murgia to the Ionian Sea, where Puglia becomes Salento, fully expresses the enogastronomic vocation of a territory that makes traditions its identity. The over 300 hectares of the estate also touch another sea of Southern Italy, the Adriatic, in the territory of Bisceglie, between Bari and Gargano. Two seas, one passion, one goblet of emotions.

Vetrère is an agricultural company that serves as a guardian and ambassador of the territory. Its philosophy is part of a broader ecosystem made up of environment, quality, culture.

Vetrère has chosen the path of clean energy and is able to meet its energy needs independently. Electricity is produced by the solar panels that cover the winery and offices, and by the generosity of the sun in Puglia. A biomass boiler generates the heat needed for the estate: the grape seeds are naturally dried in summer to serve as natural fuel in winter.

Vini Vetrère: a goblet of emotions

The wines Vetrère are produced in a building made entirely of tuff stone, known as tufa, a limestone typical of Salento. Its star vaults and the characteristics of tufa allow the winery to maintain thermal insulation and a constant temperature, ideal conditions for preserving the organoleptic properties of the wine during aging and storage.

The estate's grapes are cultivated according to the training method known as “spalliera a cordone speronato”. Once the harvest period arrives, the grapes are collected and immediately pressed. The cooling of the must follows immediately after the harvest without any interruptions, to avoid oxidative processes of the grapes and allow the wine to express all its aromas.
For the same purpose, Vetrère uses state-of-the-art tools, methods, and technologies: vinification takes place in temperature-controlled environments, with no contact between the harvested grapes and oxygen.

This attention allows for the preservation of the organoleptic properties of the product and the preservation of its deep identity.

Azienda Agricola Vetrère offers you excellent Salento IGP: unique wines that have also been awarded the The Wine Hunter Awards.
