Vecchie Terre di Montefili is a classic Tuscan winery that produces the best Chianti Classico wines that express a strong bond with the territory and nature, maintaining very high levels of quality and refinement for over thirty #39 years.
Vecchie Terre di Montefili: purity and passion of
Chianti Classico
Vecchie Terre di Montefili is located in Panzano, in the heart of Tuscany and Chianti Classico, in the renowned Conca d&' Oro. The estate, dating before 1200, before belonging to &' Abbazia di Passignano, boasts a prestigious but very stormy past, including changes of ownership, wars and partial destruction.
Since 1979 it has belonged to the Acuti family, which, with an extremely inspired hand, has brought to light the great potential of these territories. In 2000, the first organic district d& #39 was founded; Italy, under the supervision of &' Association of wine producers of Panzano in Chianti. This sustainable and organic utopia in the Tuscan hills represents a responsibility to the earth, to plants and to wine lovers around the world.
In September 2015, Vecchie Terre di Montefili passed its hands to American investors Nicola Marzovilla, Frank Bynum and Tom Peck Jr.: three Italophiles, in equal parts, curious, daring and conscientious. Montefili had everything he was looking for and even more: the terroir, the sense of belonging, the good grape and, better yet, a pure place to fall in love with, a place where they simply wanted to stay.
With ambitious projects to preserve the sanctity of this land, projecting it into the future like a phoenix rising in the Chianti Classico area, the three employed the talent of a young oenologist pioneer: Serena Gusmeri,
obsessed with Sangiovese and sustainability.
Vecchie Terre di Montefili: wines with a great personality
Vecchie Terre di Montefili is located on a small hill just over 1,500 feet in the Chianti Classico hills, a geologically unique position, with three languages of land that converge: one from Panzano, one from Montefioralle and one from Sicelle. This characteristic allows for three distinct soils, making each vineyard unique, thanks to the exposure and age of the vines.
Montefili wines describe the land, not the hand that created them, transmitting the' importance of Sangiovese and all its glorious nuances.
The soil is distinguished by a soil rich in stones, galestro and limestone that is particularly favorable to the production of wines with a strong personality, intense and long-lasting.
Vecchie Terre di Montefili makes every decision in the vineyards and in the cellar in full respect and sustainabilityof &' the environment and for the health of the vineyards, cultivated organically. Vinification does not follow a recipe and every year is a journey of pure discovery, dictated by its conditions.
The work in the cellar is rigorous and traditional, it involves only paragraph' the use of barrels and tonneau to make the most of the soil and the grape variety.
The wines signed by Vecchie Terre di Montefili are a letter d&' love to the land of Chianti: listening to its needs and testifying to what it wants to express, with paragraph' the goal
