Ocone Vini 1910

The Ocone winery is a historic production company in Sannio Beneventano that has been active for over a century. In fact, it was founded in 1910 by Giuseppe Ocone and soon achieved great fortune in the area. Today it owns 10 hectares of vineyards and collects the grapes even from a small network of historic and trusted suppliers, for a total of 25 hectares more. Ocone has a young and enterprising team, united by a great passion for quality oenology and eager to enhance the territory, it works in great synergy

Ocone Vini: territoriality and ancient traditions

Since 1910, the Ocone winery has been producing wines on the slopes of Monte Taburno, in the municipality of Ponte, where the hills reach 400 meters above sea level, the soils are rich in clay and limestone and the climate is temperate, influenced by the flow of the waters of the Calore river.
Here, as in ancient Roman times, there are native varieties cultivated by local populations: Aglianico, Piedirosso, Coda di Volpe, Greco, Fiano and Falanghina.

The names of the labels produced, which include toponyms and names of Roman and Greek deities, claim the strong link with the ancient traditions of the territory. Respect for the history and the typical characteristics of Sannio are embodied in the choice of respectful and sustainable viticulture, in line with the principles of organic agriculture.

Ocone wines are historical representatives of a terroir of ancient winemaking tradition, extraordinarily suitable, who still have a lot to tell. In 2018, the Ocone brand, together with the activities and structures of the winery, was acquired by the company “Euvitis 21. Agriculture, Territory and Development”. Already in the company name, the new property underlines the choice of field at the base of the entrepreneurial initiative: to develop in a modern and dynamic key a productive reality with enormous potential, while respecting a highly recognizable territorial identity.
