Tenuta Scorciabove is a brand of Società Agricola Apulia Verde from Lucera, in the land of Capitanata, which is in the province of Foggia, the northern area of Puglia encompassing Gargano, the Dauni mountains, and the Tavoliere delle Puglie. The main characters of this story are the Rossi family, who have a long agricultural tradition spanning many generations, specializing in tomato cultivation. Today, it is Raffaele, Chiara, and Francesca, the last generation, who have decided to carry on the family business and, alongside tomato cultivation, to transform it into artisanal organic products.

Tenuta Scorciabove: from a Bedford to a business with over 500 hectares of land

Everything started in the 1970s, when they plowed at night with tractors and there was no radio for company, only memories and dreams. The protagonist back then was the grandfather, who taught his children and then his grandchildren all the work that needed to be done, passing on to them a great passion. There was no real business, just a sort of traveling workshop, a Bedford truck, which sustained the family. When the opportunity came to take over Don Lello Petrilli's business and a 160-hectare land, the dream became a reality. Thus, the Società Agricola Apulia Verde was born in 2012, with the precise intention of rooting itself in the agricultural tradition of the Rossi family.

Tenuta Scorciabove: organic tomato-based products with a complete supply chain

Shortly after being founded, the agricultural company made its entrance into the world of organic farming and was certified by ICEA, one of the most qualified consortia in the BIO sector in Italy and Europe. It is probably one of the first certifications of the “farm-to-table” supply chain that ensures traceability of raw materials and the finished product, guaranteeing product quality and consumer protection.
Today, the company spans 500 hectares and boasts a unique supply chain in tomato production.
