The Bocale Farm is located in Madonna della Stella, just six kilometers from the center of Montefalco (PG). The historic village, defined as the “Railings of Umbria”, stands on a hill overlooking the Spoleto Valley, about 473 meters high, and offers an enchanting view.
Bocale is the dialect term that indicates the two-liter jar of wine or oil, but, above all, the name with which this Montefalco family has always been identified.

One hundred years of history and personal stories link the Valentini family to the City of Montefalco. In the background, the most authentic Umbria, linked to the culture of its land, in which every peasant gesture resonates with wisdom, simplicity, passion and sacrifice. Stories of men and of working in the fields, framed in a hilly landscape of rare beauty, where the vine combs the round shapes of the earth. Starting in 2002, the Valentini family returned to interpreting this environmental and cultural heritage, creating Bocale, a company created to treasure that ancient passion for wine handed down for generations.
The Montefalco Rosso, Montefalco Sagrantino and Trebbiano Spoletino productions are authentic expressions of a path of innovation in tradition, where only the fruits of nature are mixed with the perfection and simplicity of human gestures. Bocale: craftsmanship
and innovation
The company covers 10 hectares, of which 6 are vineyards and has an average annual production of 35,000 bottles. Completely natural wines are produced with an artisanal process that enhances varietal and territorial characteristics.
The vineyard is treated with the weeding technique with organic and mineral fertilization without the use of chemicals or herbicides.
Fermentation takes place exclusively with native yeasts.
The wine is not subject to microfiltration and thermal stabilization.
The wines are produced with processes that exclude the use of any substance of animal origin, do not contain traces of animal derivatives, eggs and dairy products and have obtained the V-Label “Vegan” label.
Aging takes place in French oak barrels. The wines are marketed only after adequate aging in the bottle.
The Bocale company is committed and pays particular attention to eco-sustainability using renewable sources that help reduce environmental impact. In fact, the energy used for the entire production cycle is obtained from a photovoltaic system
