Fratelli Pinna: enhancement of the territory and its products
The Fratelli Pinna Farm was founded around the 1940s thanks to his father Sebastiano, and then, in 1997, it passed to his children Antonella, Gavino and Leonardo. Since those years, a lot has evolved and above all thanks to the precious advice of their mother Caterina, they have chosen to invest in quality and respect for agronomic and transformation practices that enhance the characteristics of the raw materials.
The estates of Prato Comunale and Ochila represent the farms of the entire property, located between Sassari and Ittiri, are characterized by a hilly slope and clay soil with a substrate of basalt rocks. The centuries-old olive trees, most of them belonging to the native Bosana variety, are located in the town of Prato Comunale, where you can find the oil mill and the laboratory for the production of vegetables in oil. In the fields of Ochila, on the other hand, vegetables are mainly cultivated, including artichokes, asparagus, eggplants and tomatoes and a small vineyard.
The protection of the territory and its biodiversity, according to the Pinna Brothers, is a decisive aspect in order to give value and identity to the products that Sardinia offers.
For more than 70 years, the company's production philosophy has focused on the search for the highest quality and on the preservation of the territory: integrated control agriculture is the agricultural technique that the Pinna Brothers have chosen to give value to olives, artichokes, asparagus and grapes. This practice involves a non-invasive crop defense for the surrounding ecosystem, which drastically reduces the use of pesticides and pesticides. Respect for nature and its balance, combined with a search for the best transformation techniques, are the core values on which the Pinna Brothers business philosophy is based. In fact, in the direct field, methods are applied that allow the reuse of waste from both the processing of preserves and the production of oil: thanks to the burning of olive kernels and a photovoltaic system
, they produce clean energy.
Fratelli Pinna products: the good heart of Sardinia
The Fratelli Pinna Company produces three types of extra virgin olive oil in Sassari: the Antichi Uliveti del Prato oil, the Denocciolato di Bosana and the Maccia d'Agliastru. For the production of extra virgin oil, they use their oil mill characterized by a two-phase continuous cycle system that works in the total absence of oxygen. This system, consisting of machines connected in series, guarantees continuity to the entire process and at the same time avoids the oxidation of the oil, keeping intact all the nutritional and organoleptic characteristics found naturally in the olives.
The Pinna Brothers, in addition to the Bosana olive groves, are also dedicated to the cultivation of vegetables: artichokes, asparagus, favette beans, peppers, onions, eggplants, wild beets, cauliflower and zucchini.
The specialties signed by Fratelli Pinna tell the tradition of the territory through the genuineness of good practices, applied to the search for quality at the table. Attention, care and love for work are able to enrich with all the nuances of the land of Sardinia the pleasure of enjoying food and wine specialties
that live up to expectations.
