Francesca De Leo Alberti: family, tradition, quality

The Azienda Agricola Francesca De Leo Alberti is located in the Piani della Corona, in contrada Covala, Bagnara Calabra. Nestled in a setting of incomparable beauty, at 700 meters above sea level between the Costa Viola and the slopes of the Aspromonte, in the southernmost part of Calabria.

Francesca De Leo Alberti is the owner, heir to a centuries-old family tradition in olive oil production in the area and beyond. Francesca inherited above all the love for the land and agriculture from her father Antonio De Leo.

Today the company can rely on the strength and creativity of an all-female entrepreneurial group: the owner, her daughter Giulia, who has chosen to follow the paths of agriculture and the production of their Organic Extra Virgin Olive Oil, and other collaborators. This functional team manages to enhance all the resources offered by the territory while fully respecting it.

The company benefits from particularly unique climatic conditions and soil types, which give the oil produced an unique flavor and aroma.


Francesca De Leo Alberti: Lines and Products

The Organic Extra Virgin Olive Oil from the Frantoio del Borgo line is obtained from the harvest carried out in October and November. The harvest is done using a shaker and comb, with the olives falling onto special nets, then collected and placed in boxes. They are taken to the mill, sorted, and washed before the final processing. The milling occurs in closed, stainless steel tanks that are cleaned meticulously between each processing at a temperature not exceeding 25 degrees. Finally, there is an extraction process with state-of-the-art centrifuges that separates the oil from the oily pomace. The final but important step, the extracted oil is stored at a controlled temperature of about 13/15 degrees in stainless steel tanks, to keep the organoleptic characteristics of the product intact. It is subjected to natural decantation. The oil obtained from the two cultivars Ottobratica and Sinopolese, in proportion, creates a harmonious blend of delicate balance between fruity and spicy, with a yellow-green color and an intense aroma derived from chlorophyll.
The Extra Virgin is not just a condiment but a true food, made up of many good and qualitatively important fats. Characteristics that make it a elixir of long life. Olive oil is considered the only fundamental food derived from a fruit, rich in vitamins and antioxidants, and protects against free radicals.

The line "Le Delizie del Borgo" was born in 2012 out of the need to transform the company's products into tasty pleasures for the palate. The Paté, Jams are all crafted in a traditional manner with genuine ingredients from the company or from companies that meet the criteria of genuineness.

You can find the excellent CiocoBorgOlio Pralines with Extra Virgin Olive Oil that combine the sweetness of chocolate and the characteristic flavor of Extra Virgin Olive Oil, a perfect meeting for the palate.

The CiocoBorgotto Pralines with Extra Bergamot Jam are also excellent, combining the sweetness of chocolate with the characteristic sour taste of bergamot, creating a perfect match for the palate.

Also part of the Delizie del Borgo line are the Extra Bergamot Jam and onion jam, products that encapsulate the excellence, flavors, and scents of the Mediterranean in the tradition of Calabria.
