The Ronchi Winery is a Piedmontese winery rooted in the territory of Barbaresco that offers quality wines with great territorial expression.
Azienda Agricola Ronchi: tradition, quality and passion
The Ronchi Farm was founded in 1996 and bears the name of one of the most prestigious Geographic Mentions of Barbaresco, it was created at the end of the 19th century by Carlo Rocca, the great-grandfather of Giancarlo Rocca, the current owner.
The founder of a family of winemakers that would become important in Barbaresco, Carlo Rocca is dedicated only to the cultivation of vineyards and his excellent grapes are purchased by the few important wineries that at the time vinified in the area.
His son Giacomo Rocca follows in his footsteps expanding vineyards and production. On the threshold of the 60s of the twentieth century, his sons Alfonso and Albino created two separate companies and Alfonso Rocca decided to start vinifying his own grapes, in particular those of Nebbiolo.
An important challenge that brought the first recognition to his Barbaresco as early as 1975 when, at the AIS National Congress in Alba, he was selected in a blind tasting as a prototype of Barbaresco to be presented to sommeliers from all over Italy: an excellent credential for the Italian market that is beginning to learn about Alfonso Rocca's Barbaresco.
In the 90s, foreign markets also opened up: at first Switzerland then, gradually, the countries of northern Europe, Japan, the United States and Singapore

Ronchi Winery Winery: Piedmontese expression
The Ronchi Farm has always been rooted in the territory of Barbaresco and is well aware of the value of hilly viticulture. It cultivates company-owned vineyards and vinifies only grapes from its own vineyards, fully controlling the production chain from bunch to bottle.
The town of Barbaresco belongs to the Langhe, a prestigious wine-growing area in southern Piedmont. It is located right in the center of the Barbaresco Docg wine production area and its soft hills, embraced by rows of one of the most famous red wines in the world, are part of the “Piedmont Wine Landscapes” declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO in 2014.
The Ronchi Farm applies great environmental sensitivity to the cultivation of the vineyard, with a view to preserving the integrity and fertility of the soil with the elimination of the use of herbicides and chemical fertilizers and the limitation of mechanical processing. In addition, it has taken steps to sow herbs that promote the natural nutritional balance of the soil. The winery cares a lot about the territory, cultivating the vineyard with respect to deliver it intact to future generations.
The vines cultivated on the farm are: Nebbiolo, Barbera, Arneis and Chardonnay. Two types of Barbaresco DOCG are obtained from Nebbiolo, the classic and the “Ronchi”, a Langhe Nebbiolo Doc and a Classic Method rosé sparkling wine. Barbera d'Alba Doc “Terlé” is produced from Barbera. From Chardonnay, a Langhe Chardonnay Doc is produced. Finally, an intense and original Langhe Bianco Doc was born from Arneis.
L&' Azienda Agricola Ronchi, from these vines, obtains excellent wines, recognized and awarded also by The Wine Hunter Awards.
