The Nicolis Farm is a historic family-run winery for over sixty years that offers you excellent wines from the Valpolicella territory.
Nicolis wines: a passion that spans generations
The Nicolis Farm was founded in 1951 by Angelo Nicolis, who passed on his passion for the land and wine to his eight children and his wife Natalia. The company is now part of the best wine scene in Valpolicella and its award-winning wines are known and appreciated both in Italy and abroad.
The history of the Nicolis family has always been linked to the art of viticulture. The company is located in the heart of the classic area, in San Pietro in Cariano, and caring for the land and the vine has always been part of the family's daily life, since the childhood of Giancarlo and GiuseppeNicolis, now owners of the company.
The name Nicolis tells the story of a family, in which each member is a fundamental piece of the company's oenological puzzle, from working the land to obtaining wine: the care of the vineyards, looked after with passion by Giancarlo, the refined and genuine vinification guaranteed by Giuseppe, the commercial part followed by both with Massimo.
The personal journey of the members of the Nicolis family is closely linked to the history and peculiarities of Valpolicella, an area where wines with a very high qualitative and evocative profile are produced. It is no coincidence, therefore, that all the labels produced by the company are a unique representation of the territory to which they belong.
The company covers 90 hectares, of which 42 are dedicated to the cultivation of vines and are differentiated by position and morphological composition, to guarantee each vineyard the best and most suitable soil to create unique wines.
Nicolis wines: unique and unrepeatable wine
The Nicolis Farm is conducted in an eco-sustainable form of agriculture following European regulations on integrated agriculture. The use of photovoltaic panels makes it autonomous from the point of view of energy production, using renewable sources. This method of cultivation underlines the particular attention that the Nicolis family pays to the land, the deep bond with it, respect and care.
A vine that grows and bears fruit, which will then be transformed into a unique and unrepeatable wine, is for Vini Nicolis, every time, the realization of a pact: the one made between them and the earth.
The 42 hectares of vineyards are cared for with love and dedication by Giancarlo and Giuseppe: the fresh wines come from the grapes of the vineyards in the lower part of the hills, while the crus and the hilly exposures give rise to ripasso wines and Amarone, with the old vineyards raised in a pergola and bordered by well-exposed and well-kept marogne.
And so, classic vintage wines are born from the soil of the foothills, while the hill, with its microclimates and terraces supported by the typical Marogne of Valpolicella, is the kingdom of Amarone and Recioto, the company's main wines. The elegant and powerful body of Amarone reveals all the exuberance of the sun, while the floral sensations of Recioto seem almost a tribute to the wild rose that adorns the hills. The company's spearhead is Ambrosan, Amarone that comes from a particularly valuable vineyard.
The land of Valpolicella represents a treasure chest with a truly precious content, which the Nicolis family cultivates with passion, to give us wines of great character and personality, with incredible balance and
