Arudi Vermouth & Bitters is the fruit of the great passion of Max and Mirna Bernardini, liqueurs by vocation and profession.
It so happened that, after becoming passionate about the history of the Award-Winning Martino Balbo Liquori and Vermouth Factory, they found among ancient documents, labels and other memorabilia a rare book on liquor, published in 1923, by Giulio Arudi, an aromatizer, who collected the sum of knowledge on liquor of the period.
The original recipes for classic Vermouth and Bitter have been updated and are now being re-proposed, paying tribute to the author of the book. This is how the idea of bringing back to life the recipe for classic Vermouth was born, thus returning to the market paying homage to one of the most traditional products of ancient Turin

Arudi Vermouth & Bitters: the rebirth of &' Turin's historic aperitif
It all started with the Premiata Fabbrica Liquori e Vermouth Martino Balbo, founded in 1916.
We are in the early twentieth century, a period that saw Turin in full industrial, cultural and social ferment, a dynamic city that never sleeps. In this setting, around seven in the evening, a new ritual takes shape in the city's elegant cafés, which become meeting places after work. Vermouth time comes for nobles, soldiers, politicians and bourgeoisie, who, after having finished their work, go to bars to taste the famous flavored wine, accompanied by some pastries, sweet or savory. For this reason, Turin can be said to be the real capital of the aperitif, which then became a national custom in the decades to come.
It is in this context that Balbo, a sharp man and skilled entrepreneur, fully seizes this opportunity in the full social and industrial expansion of Turin and immediately stands out for his spirit of innovation, winning numerous medals and honors between 1922 and 1923, the latter of which was gold. He then became the supplier of His Excellency the Duke of Genoa, an important goal coveted by many liquor companies.
In 1940, the brand of Vermouth Balbo was registered. When the company closed in the Eighties, the machines were sold, while cards, documents and diplomas of merit ended up locked inside cartons, with the sole purpose of having a memory of the glorious past.
As already mentioned, Max and Mirna Bernardini, liqueurs by passion and profession, have decided to restore light to the Award-Winning Martino Balbo Liquori and Vermouth Factory, also thanks to an ancient liquor book, dating back to 1923, by Giulio Arudi

Vermouth, or the first real great aperitif
Arudi Vermouth & Bitters offers three versions of Turin Vermouth, Red, White and Dry, as well as a Bitter with an unmistakable ruby red color. Vermouth is a truly unique, unmistakable and versatile aromatic wine. It should be served cold and can be drunk plain, with only ice, or by adding a nice slice of orange and the lemon peel cut thin, so as to make the aromatic nuances more articulated. Alternatively, Arudi Vermouth can also be used in mixology to create elegant and attractive cocktails (not surprisingly, the most famous include this ingredient at the base).
And for your cocktails, don't forget Bitter Arudi, prepared from botanical extracts including gentian, citrus and quassium. Perfect to enjoy at the end of a meal, it's a must if you want to prepare punch or cocktail, and indeed, we'll tell you more: the combination of bitter and vermouth is nothing short
