Azienda Agricola Giarola: scopri i prodotti

Every great wine comes from great lands, like those that Sante Giarola managed to purchase once he returned to Italy after a journey to America in search of fortune in the 1900s.

Azienda Agricola Giarola: a family story

For almost a hundred years, the Giarola family has been cultivating their lands with vineyards, passing down traditions, stories, and values from generation to generation.

The story begins at the dawn of the last century when the Giarola family started to cultivate vineyards on the gentle slopes of the moraine hills. With skilled hands and tireless commitment, family members worked side by side, sharing a passion for the vine that has been passed down from father to son.

In 1968, Umberto Giarola took the reins of the company and began vinifying the cultivated grapes: this marked the birth of Giarola wines, a symbol of careful work and an evolving family tradition.

Today, Michele and Valeriano, the sons of Umberto, lead the company with the same passion and dedication as their father, carrying forward the perfect blend of tradition and innovation.

The land of Giarola wines

We are located in Palazzolo di Sona, in the province of Verona, where the Azienda Agricola Giarola stretches across the hills, characterized by a mild and temperate climate and from which it is possible, on clearer days, to see the sparkle of Lake Garda's waters.

These are lands rich in history, with origins dating back to the last period of the Ice Age when the ice retreated, crushing rocks and debris, thus forming clay and fine grains that are ideal for vine cultivation, allowing for the production of fine wines.

The vineyards of the Giarola family

"Respect for the environment and love for nature" is the principle of the Azienda Agricola Giarola, which keeps pace with the times by implementing innovations that always respect the company's traditions.

Over the years, significant investments have been made to allow not only for the cultivation of the vines but also for the production of wines.

The majority of the hectares of vines have been renewed, incorporating systems that allow for mechanizing pruning and harvesting operations to ensure high-quality production while requiring low water availability.

Regular soil and leaf tests are conducted to ensure that all the necessary nutrients are present for balanced plant development.

The winery of Azienda Agricola Giarola

Umberto Giarola kept his small production in a few tanks and barrels in the cellar under the house.

The early clients were private individuals, and due to the proximity to the lake, there were also many foreigners who brought Giarola wines abroad.

In the 1970s, expansion began, leading up to 2018 with the purchase of a completely new and automated bottling plant.

Today, the structure of the winery allows for the best vinification and maturation of the wines.

It is important to pay great attention to all production processes, integrating the experience, sensitivity, and intuition of the winemaker.

Now it is Michele and Valeriano, the sons of Umberto, who carry forward the family business, which already boasts exports to 25 countries worldwide.
