The Dry Cherry Tomato in EVO Oil from Frantoi Cutrera is an exceptional product. The cherry tomatoes, sun-dried following the traditional method, are then seasoned with oil and spices, offering one of the most typical, versatile, and flavorful products of island culinary tradition.
The cherry tomato is one of the most typical food reserves of Sicily, particularly in the southeast, in the area of Pachino, where they have found the best possible habitat for their development. They have an important sugar content and are therefore ideal for being eaten alone, in sauce, or slightly dried and placed in extra virgin olive oil.
Their name derives from their typical “cherry-like” shape. The Cutrera family has decided to leverage the flavor and intense color of these fruits to create a delicious preserved product, with a strong aroma and color.
Ingredients:
Dried cherry tomato, Gran Cru Tonda Iblea extra virgin olive oil, basil, Sicilian red garlic, Sicilian sea salt.
The Sun-dried Cherry Tomato in Extra Virgin Olive Oil from Frantoi Cutrera is particularly sweet and suitable for dressing toasted Tuscan bread crostini or Altamura-style bread. Great on pizza or on flatbreads like those from Bari or Puglia.
To be enjoyed in appetizers with seafood crudités, grilled shrimp, or octopus, the Cutrera Cherry Tomatoes are also recommended to accompany fresh goat cheese or creamy cow's milk cheeses. Delightful with wedges of Mozzarella di Bufala Campana DOP and fresh basil, ideal for creating various dressings for pasta or sauces for bruschetta.
