The Monte Veronese DOP / aged Malga 19-24 months is a sublime, rare, exciting cheese. Its color is intense yellow, with a semi-cooked texture and a thick rind, produced only with milk from cattle that graze in pastures. Its flavor is strong and persistent, that cannot be forgotten.
We are talking about a Slow Food Presidio: the production of the Monte Veronese DOP from the Presidio is linked to the ascent to the alpine pastures of herds in the Lessinia region, and therefore, it must take place from the end of May approximately until September.
This cheese is one of the most important among those produced in the mountains in the Italian gastronomic landscape.

The Monte Veronese DOP / di Malga 19-24 months Slow Food Presidio (which we present on this page in a 200g portion) is an amazing cheese to enjoy on its own at the end of a meal paired with a good intense red, such as a Amarone della Valpolicella DOCG.
It pairs very well with chestnut honey, but also with other cheeses on a nice cheese board, alongside walnuts, pears, and eggs. It's also excellent to use as an ingredient for cooking polenta and rustic tarts.
To be used for a classic and traditional recipe from the alpine huts, namely Monte Veronese dop fondue with truffle, which combines two of the most widespread and appreciated products from Lessinia.
