Indeed, the San Pietro in beeswax was declared in 2015 at the World Cheese Awards as the Best Italian Cheese and the Best Cheese in Europe. The prized product from Latteria Perenzin has thus become one of the 60 best artisanal cheeses in the world. It also won several medals in 2016, but did not achieve the coveted award it won the previous year.
