The Tererito is a non-alcoholic sparkling beverage made from an extract of Mate Herb (or Yerba Mate), a refreshing and toning herb from Guatemala. It has a yellow-green color and a white foam; its harmonious taste makes it particularly pleasant and absolutely unmistakable.
In Latin America, infusions made from the leaves of this herb are consumed hot in the characteristic hollow gourd (the "Mate") or served cold mixed with citrus juice. Mate herb is famous as a detoxifier and antioxidant, thanks to the content of 11 polyphenols; this plant helps prevent cell aging and is an effective natural tonic.
The ingredients of tererito are: water, cane sugar, carbon dioxide, extract of Mate Herb, citric acid, and flavors. The cane sugar comes from a fair trade project involving the Coopecanera cooperative in Costa Rica, while the Mate Herb comes from the Brazilian project SemTerra.
The Tererito is a rather sweet drink, almost tasting like lemonade, making it ideal to enjoy with some nice ice cubes during moments of relaxation with friends.
Please remember that Tererito is a stimulating beverage, as it contains caffeine, so it is excellent during a break from work. On this page, we present it in a 275ml bottle format.
