The Porchetta alla Romana is a typical product from central Italy. Its history dates back to ancient times: it is said that Emperor Nero was a fan of the porchetta produced in the area of the Castelli Romani.
The one from Pavoncelli takes the traditional recipe from this specific area of Italy, preparing it with the meat of female pigs. This is why it is called so. The meat is deboned, then salted and spiced, and it is roasted in the oven for 3-5 hours. A delicious treat, with a crunchy crust and a tender and juicy interior!
The Porchetta alla Romana from the Salumificio Pavoncelli is enjoyed sliced fresh and is ideal for delicious sandwiches. This product also has remarkable versatility in the kitchen.
