The Nadalin is a typical festive sweet from the Christmas period in Verona. The bakery Spiga Dorata offers it in a high-quality artisanal version, made with mother yeast, kneaded twice, and risen for 22 hours. A Nadalin made according to tradition: star-shaped with 7 points, without candied fruits and filled with a rich glaze of almonds and hazelnuts.
The Nadalin is a sweet created at the end of the 13th century to celebrate the first Christmas after the investiture of the noble Della Scala, who became Lords of Verona, and it represents the father of modern pandoro. Many in the city of Verona prefer it to the more famous leavened cake because it is more closely tied to Veronese tradition, given that pandoro has now become a national sweet.
The Nadalin from the Spiga Dorata bakery is an irresistible delight! To achieve optimal quality, we recommend keeping the product for about an hour near a heat source (such as a stove or radiator) while it is still in its packaging. It is sensitive to humidity and subject to natural weight loss. Store in a cool, dry place.
