The Col de la Bastia Amarone della Valpolicella DOCG from Azienda Agricola Fattori is a high quality dry red passito wine, produced from the extraordinary grapes grown in the vineyards located in the Bastia area, the watershed between the Val d'Alpone and the Val d'Illasi, in the heart of Valpolicella, a hilly area situated in the north-western part of the province of Verona.

The Amarone is a wine that originates from a blend of grapes from different grape varieties, among which the most important is the Corvina (65%); there are also Rondinella (10%), Corvinone (15%), and other non-essential vineyards.

This still black wine is characterized by a garnet red color and a very pronounced characteristic aroma. The full, warm, and velvety taste features aromatic notes of ripe red fruit.

The Col de la Bastia Amarone della Valpolicella DOCG from the Azienda Agricola Fattori is perfect with winter foods, such as braised dishes, stews, pot roasts, but especially game. However, it also pairs perfectly with cured meats, aged cheeses, and traditional dishes from the Verona area such as "pasta e fasoi" and the same risotto all'Amarone. The ideal serving temperature is about 18°C, perhaps pouring the wine into a decanter that allows for adequate oxygenation, a process that enhances its organoleptic properties. The type of glass recommended for appropriate service is a very large red wine glass which, allowing the wine to oxygenate, gives the aromas the chance to release all their intensity.
