The Chateau Cantin St.Emilion Grand Cru is one of the most well-known and appreciated French wines around the world. The St. Emilion area was classified in 1954 and is the only one to have a review every 10 years. The highest category of St.Emilion is the Premier Grand Cru Classé.
The soil of the vineyards is clay and limestone, and the types of vines used are Merlot 80%, Cabernet Franc 10%, Cabernet Sauvignon 10%, with an average age of the vines being about 28 years. The grapes are hand-picked carefully and placed in a stainless steel tank.
On the nose, it is powerful and fruity, offering aromas of stewed fruit with spicy notes. On the palate, it is well-balanced, expressive, and persistent. The attack, broad and round, reveals aromas of cherries, dark fruits, and coffee.
The Bordeaux region is part of the larger area of Aquitaine, influenced in its dishes by its proximity to the sea and the hills and sources of the inland.
The Chateau Cantin St.Emilion Magnum pairs wonderfully with foie gras and duck, game, and red meat, accompanied by the traditional bordelaise sauce. Additionally, Bordeaux is a wine that pairs very well with strong-flavored cheeses and also with desserts.
