The Haut-Médoc de Lascombes is a wine from Chateau Lascombes, produced in France in the Margaux area.
Chateau Lascombes is located in Margaux and dates back to the 18th century, named after its earliest known owner, the knight Antoine de Lascombes. This castle is still referred to today as "Second Grand Cru."
The vineyard covers 112 hectares, and vinification takes place in traditional stainless steel with temperature control. The grape varieties used to produce the Haut-Médoc de Chateau Lascombes are Cabernet Sauvignon 63%, Merlot 21%, and Petit Verdot 16%.
This Bordeaux Haut Médoc has a bright light garnet hue and a discreet nose. It requires aeration to showcase fruity aromas such as cherry. There are also hints of vanilla. The wine on the palate is delightful, well balanced with red fruit aromas, and it is very concentrated with a long, persistent finish.
The Haut-Médoc pairs very well with lamb, grilled red meat, game with a strong and intense flavor, or aged cheeses with a strong taste. Additionally, this Bordeaux is excellent as an accompaniment to decadent chocolate cakes.
