Pommard Premier Cru La Platière is a French red wine produced by the Marguerite Carillon winery.
The Platiere is a 100% Pinot Noir cuvée. For this particular wine, a pre-fermentation of 5 to 6 days is necessary. The vinification lasts about 10 days in wooden barrels, where the temperature can reach up to 34 degrees.
Aging varies from 14 to 18 months in oak barrels, 50% new and 50% old oak.
The Pinot Noir is the dominant red wine grape of Burgundy, later adopted in wine regions around the world. It is characterized by an intense aroma of strawberry and cherry (fresh red cherries in lighter wines and sour cherries in heavier wines).
Pommard Premier Cru La Platiere is a wine with a bright ruby red color and a slight hue. On the nose, this wine is pure and precise, with a strong scent of berries and dark earthy licorice. The Burgundy is a very full-bodied wine, characterized by dense fruit aromas with a slight herbal aftertaste.
This wine pairs very well with grilled red meat such as beef and game. Additionally, it can also be enjoyed with strong and bold cheese.
