The Hestremo Recioto della Valpolicella DOCG 2017 by Garbole is a precious sweet red wine from Verona. It is a wine full of emotional intensity and energy, warm and reassuring, it expresses the connection between past and present, reminding us who we are and where we come from. It evokes memories, thoughts, and emotions that dwell within our most ancestral part.
The names of Garbole wines are preceded by an H: the H factor. That is, the same hands, the same way of doing, the same mindset, the same family: a way to harmonize as well as to identify. But also the desire to narrate silence, a subtle and ironic allusion to the wish to step away from the filters of a scientific tasting.
Grapes: Corvina, Corvinone, Rondinella
Harvest: entirely manual, conducted from mid-September.
Vinification and aging: a slow and gentle fermentation is carried out in stainless steel tanks at controlled temperatures. In oak barrels for at least 60 months.
Year: 2017
Alcohol percentage: 12.50% vol.
The Hestremo Recioto della Valpolicella DOCG 2017 from Garbole is a wine that combines the typical qualities of both an important red wine and a passito of great complexity and elegance. It can be paired with desserts and fruit-based tarts, as well as chocolate, and traditional dry pastries. It is also ideal for accompanying aged cheeses such as a Monte Veronese aged over 9 months or blue-veined cheeses served with jams or mustards.
Color: deep intense ruby red tending towards garnet.
Aroma: notes of plum, cherry, sour cherry jam, and almond, all nicely blended with a pleasant balsamic vein and a hint of fresh mint, which alongside hints of vanilla, coffee, and chocolate give the wine olfactory complexity.
Taste: a dense wine with great flavor and aromatic persistence, characterized by an excellent balance between sweetness and acidity.
Serving temperature: 13 - 14 °C
