The Cubeb is one of the oldest peppers that comes from the Island of Java.
Produced in great quantities as early as the fourth century B.C. so much so that Theophrastus mentions this spice arriving in Greece and being considered somewhat like the gold of the tables of that time. Marco Polo also talks about it.
Flavors of the East is the result of years of experience in selecting the finest spices and aromas from Middle Eastern and Asian countries, as well as Africa and South America. A group of young entrepreneurs from Veneto and Friuli, with a passion for exotic and international cuisine. Thanks to the consultancy of one of the greatest Italian spice merchants, they manage to obtain the best batches of these rare and precious products every year.
It is a very pleasant and balanced pepper with a nice spicy sensation that is particularly delicate. Its smell is somewhat reminiscent of allspice; in fact, it is particularly aromatic. It is often used paired with meat and in specific preparations of Moroccan pastries.
