The White Label Colli della Toscana Centrale IGT 2017 from the winery I Balzini is an intense, elegant red wine with a strong territorial connotation.
Grape Variety: Sangiovese, Cabernet Sauvignon
Vineyard: Pliocenic origin soil, sedimentary formation characterized by the presence of yellow sands alternating with clays. Notable presence of marine fossils.
Cultivation System: Soil cultivation alternated with cover cropping and pruning of the cordon-trained vine. Thinning of clusters during growth and final selection at harvest; during the harvest, the clusters are hand-picked, placed in small crates, and sorted again on the conveyor belt.
Winemaking: Maceration in stainless steel tanks at a controlled temperature of 26 – 28°C for about 2 weeks. Malolactic fermentation completed.
Aging: In medium-toasted French oak barriques, of which 50% are new, for about 12 months, followed by bottle refinement for at least 18 months.
Year: 2017
Alcohol Percentage: 14% vol.
The White Label Colli della Toscana Centrale IGT 2017 from the winery I Balzini is a red wine that pairs perfectly with grilled and roasted meats. You can also enjoy it accompanied by medium-aged cheeses.
Color: very intense and deep ruby red.
Aroma: of great olfactory complexity, with notes of small red and black berries, including distinct hints of raspberry and black cherry, well combined with vanilla and spicy notes reminiscent of tobacco and cocoa. Over the years, balsamic notes and scents of truffle emerge.
Taste: of great structure and persistence, enveloping and elegant. The tannin structure is very tight, characterized by soft tannins. The finish is very long, and the aftertaste is intense and pleasant.
